“Hey watch it!” I said angrily as I elbowed my way to the front of the crowd. This was the kickoff of the Blood is the New Black tour and I definitely wouldn’t be watching from behind someone.

Once I made it to the cold metal barrier, I wrapped my fingers around it so I could hold my spot. A few minutes passed and the lights went out. Cue the screaming obsessive fan-girls. Someone bumped into me roughly, causing the metal to dig painfully into my ribs. The lights return to the stage, highlighting the five attractive guys we were all here to see. Your Addictions.

One by one, the members ran onto the stage. Jaime, the drummer was first, followed by the bass player Xander, the rhythm guitarist Danny, Drew the lead guitarist and Jacen or Jace, the vocalist.

The music began and I turned into one of the screaming fan girls, losing myself in the music. These fellow fans were my family. The only people I felt comfortable around.

Half-way through their set someone slammed into me and a crowd surfer fell, their foot catching me in the head. I lurched forward and fell, holding my hands out in front of me. Hands wrapped around my waist and pulled me over the barrier.

“Are you okay?” a tall buff guy in a bright green shirt shouted at me.

Cradling my side, I shook my head.

He nodded and handed me off to an older guy who walked me towards the side of the stage. He left me by the stage while he shouted with a young woman with bright red hair a few shades lighter than my own. He walked back over to me and helped me stand. “The medic’s backstage. Can you make it?”

I weakly nodded as he helped me backstage. He sat me down on a box and an older blonde woman walked up to us, squatting down in front of me. “What happened sweetie?”

“Crowd surfer,” I wheezed.

She nodded. “Okay. Where does it hurt?”

"My ribs and left wrist."

"Well let's take a look at that," she said gently picking up my wrist. She poked and prodded for a few minutes before moving on to my ribs. A few minutes later she leaned back and sighed. "Well your wrist is fine, but you did bruise a rib. How far away do you live?"

"Uhh, I'm actually following the tour for a journalism project. I'm from Los Angeles."

"Well you need to rest then. No mosh pits for at least a week. Longer if you can manage. Let me tape you up real quick," she said digging around in her bag.

As she was taping up my wrist and ribs, the guys ran off the stage, stopping when they passed us. Jace patted the woman on her shoulder. His blonde hair was sweaty and sticking to his face, but his blue eyes showed no trace of being tired or worn out at all. He smiled. "Hey Shelle, what happened here?"

"Crowd surfer bruised her rib," she said as she finished taping my wrist. She looked up at them and smiled. "You boys should be grateful. This young lady is following your tour for a journalism project."

Danny, the rhythm guitarist, smiled. His shaggy black hair that usually swept over his eyes was sticking up with sweat from where he ran his hands through it. "Oh really now? What's your name sweetheart?"

Star struck and speechless, I managed to squeak out my name. "Skylar."

"Well Skylar," he said running a hand through his wavy black hair, damp with sweat that was dripping into his bright blue eyes. "We're honored such a pretty lady will be following our tour. How old are you?"

"19."

Danny raised an eyebrow at Jace who nodded slightly. He turned back to me and held his hand out. "Can I get you some dinner Skylar? It's only fair since you got hurt at our concert."
