We sat there in the shadows waiting for Blade to call us in. I was nervous. Blade is the scariest person in town. The force have been looking for him for two years and knowing that, makes you realise he can get away with anything. I looked over to Logan and at this moment I took in his appearance.
I've known Logan so long yet I haven't looked at him for longer than ten seconds. I thought he would think I had a crush on him. Haha NOPE!

His sharp jawline and his dark brown hair was overwhelmingly beautiful. Suddenly, his piercing, ocean blue eyes shot at me causing me to snap my head away.
"Were you staring at me?" His voice so smooth it was sending shivers down my spine. I could tell he was smirking. He always did that when he knew he'd embarrassed me.

"No I just happened to be looking at you in that moment." I clenched my teeth trying not to say something totally embarrassing.
"You're clenching your teeth again"
"So what?" I looked at him, my eyes fixated on his and narrowed slightly.
"You do that when you're lying."
"Shut up" I murmured "you know me too well"
"Well, I do hope so, I've know you since you were three" he chuckled.
"two and a half" I corrected, restraining myself from giggling a little.

The doors flung open and I immediately found myself jump in my seat. Logan started chuckling again.
"Hey..." I frowned, my voice barely above a whisper. He bit the inside of his cheek and shook his head a little.
"Blade will see you now." Jared said sternly, giving me a nod.

We walked into the main hall quietly. The walls were draped in an olive green curtain which hung heavily just above the floor. The wooden floor boards were filthy and covered in mud and dried blood from three weeks ago and the walls were an ugly brown. The kind of brown that you see in a cartoon when a character smells. The stench of cannabis danced in the air and burned my nostrils.

"Gross" I murmered.
"Right?" Logan agreed.
"Wrong" Blade hissed and stepped out of the dark room behind us. My heart started beating so fast I thought it was going to burst out of my chest.
"This place is not gross, it is a work of art" He looked at us, complete seriousness in his red, contact lensed, eyes.

I couldn't help myself but chuckle. Blade's icy glare burned holes through my head and I instantly wished I could go back and not react that way in the slightest.
"Sorry, was there something funny, Brooke? I seem to have missed a joke or something" he eyes still focused on my face.

I froze as he walked up to me. He circled around me like a crow, his hand tracing lightly on my body. I shuddered and felt Logan's hand my shoulder and I easily relaxed feeling his warmth seep into my skin.

I came out of my daze when Blade took a step back and looked at me, his eyes roaming my body pervertedly. I gritted my teeth in anger but begged myself not to lash out.
"You're a pretty little thing aren't you?" he chuckled, the evil sound filling the air. I shut my eyes tightly hoping this moment would end and wishing him not take advantage of me and my body again...

Logan's POV:

I stood protectively in front of her.
"Back off, Blade, find someone else. You're too old for her and besides, she wouldn't go for you. Look at yourself, you look like a rat on weed." I clenched my jaw tightly not regretting what I just did but knowing I would seriously pay for it.
"It's not her choice, Agent01"
"It should be" I hiss trying my best to take care of Brooke. She was frozen to the spot in shock of what this man was saying.

"Move, 01, or I will make you" his voice dead serious. I couldn't help but shuffle out of the way, putting my hands up. He had a way of getting other to do what he liked. "Good..." he muttered "...I was finished anyway" he walked away and headed up the staircase.

"What about what you wanted to say?" Brooke finally said, her voice shaking.
"It's no use now, you've proven yourselves"
"proven ourselves?" we both looked at each other.
"That you'll always help in times of need when you can" he disappeared up the stairs and we stood there, still taking the words in.
"Thank for that I guess?" she looked at me with her dark brown eyes and I nodded sighlently feeling ashamed that I took a step back when he told me to move.

"I'm sorry"
"About what?" she inquired urging me to go on.
"I'm shook my head and walked out of the room and headed for the exit, brushing past Jared as I did so. I wasn't scared of Jared, to me he was just strong guy, nothing else.

Brooke's POV:

He stormed out of the base and whipped his pistol out of his waistband, pointing it right at me.
"Don't follow me" he glared, ocean eyes turning shades darker and his expression turning icy.

I took three steps back raising my hands in the air and, as I did so, he ran off down the street. I waited a few moments before I ran over to the nearest pipe and climbed up onto the wall. I glanced around me and I saw him running down the road.
I ran along the wall, watching Logans every move so I could keep track of him. He was so fast I could barely stay at the same pace. There was a dark patch off in the distance and I soon realised that there was a gap to where the next wall was so I had to make a jump for it. My heart was pounding and I built up speed, pushing myself off the ground with all the force I had.

I landed skillfully on the other wall and didn't stop running. Eventually, Logan slowed down, allowing himself to get his breath back. He walked down the pathway and came across a park. He sat down on a swing and it swayed gently from side to side. I watched him intently as his lips moved slowly. I could make out the words 'I messed up...I should've stayed in front of her'. I placed a hand on my heart and sighed knowing he felt bad.

I climbed off of the wall and landed gently on the ground not making any noise but a small thump when my weight hit the earth. I walked over to the swings and a twig snapped under my feet.

Logan instantly stood up pulling the pistol out of his waistband once again. He looked around in the darkness and didn't see me "Hey Logan put the gun down" I whisper-shouted. He snapped his head in my direction and shot. BANG BANG BANG.

I heard the bullets hit the concrete floor and I stood back up. I had avoided them easily but I was still mad at Logan.
"Hey what the fuck was that for, Logan?" I hissed.
"Brooke? Oh my days I'm so sorry! Are you hurt?" he ran up to me.
"I'm fine" I giggled lightly looking into the deep blue of his vision. It somewhat calmed me and I sighed. A few moments passed and he decided to break the silence.
"I'm so sorry!" He finally said.
"I'm honestly don't mind, I know it was Blade getting what he wants"
"Really?" he slumped in relief
"Really." I gazed at him.
"To your house then?" he asked giving of a heart melting smile.
"yeah...lets" I walked off into the dark, Logan by my side.

What do you think happened to Brooke to make her so scared of Blade and Logan to be so protective? Comment what your ideas are!
