Hesitation

Part Two: Control

"Chara! What are you doing?!" Frisk asked as Chara was in battle with Froggit. As Chara did with the dummy,they hit the FIGHT button and instantly killed Froggit. Frisk stood in amazment as she looked at the monster dust of Froggit. Chara smiled at the pile of dust and chuckled,moving onto the next battle.

Frisk was silent until they reached the puzzle room. Chara walked across it with no problem,by remembering the pattern from the last route,Pacifist. They entered various rooms and caught various battles,which Chara won,until they reached the path leading to Toriel's house.

Chara looked at Toriel's house from a distant and walked into another room near it to find a toy knife. Frisk and Chara looked down at it and Chara smiled as they put it in their inventory. They walked out of the room and stood in front of Toriel's house.

Toriel left the house and saw Chara standing behind the tree. "How did you get here,my child? Are you hurt?" Toriel asked with a concerned expression. "Not a scratch. . .Impresive! But still. . ." She looks away "I should not have left you alone for so long. It was irresponsible to try to surprise you like this." After Toriel spills her secret she finally leaves and waits for you to follow behind her.

Chara walks toward the checkpoint and feels DETERMINATION coursing through their veins,like last time. They left the area and entered Toriel's house. Time passed and they went to bed as they heard Toriel wall into the room with a plate of pie. Butterscotch cinnamon pie,one slice. She sat the plate of pie onto the middle of the floor and left the room quietly as she slowly closed the door behind her.

Chara put the slice of pie in their inventory and the next day,the woke up to find Toriel in the dining room,reading a book. Toriel spots them entering the room and close their book "Up already I see?" Toriel asked with a caring smile "Um,I want you to know I am glad to have someone here. There are so many old books I want to share. I want to show you my favorite big hunting spot." Toriel goes on and on until she asked if they needed something.

In response, Chara said "How do I exit the ruins?" Toriel looked away and went silent but then said "...I have to do something. Stay here." Toriel leaves the room and walks down the staircase. Chara and Frisk followed behind Toriel and she gave the same speech as she did in the Pacifist run. Chara ignores her warning and follow her until they reach the door in which Toriel says

"You want to leave so badly? Hmph. You are just like the others. There is only one solution to this. Prove yourself. Prove to me you are strong enough to survive."
