I was picking Elyse from my moms house and she decided a to ask me.
"Ashley weren't you having twins and yet I've only seen one?"
"Mom I was in an accident and I had to have a c section ASAP and only one made it." I replied hold back the tears and she just looked at Elyse and hugged me and the tears came out.
"Honey why didn't you tell me? Did you name it and bury it?"
"Yes, his name is Matthew Evan and he was buried the same day Elyse was baptized. because they would have been baptized together and I just thought why not."
"She is baptized, did you get baptized?"
"Yes Evan did to, why?"
"You were baptized when you were this little, we just never brought you to church."
We talked for a while after that before I left, Evan and I were going house hunting.
I told him all about my conversation with my mom. He was shocked she asked me that.
"Did you know I was baptized Ev?"
"Yeah you were baptized when I was. Why do you ask babe?"
"My mom and I were talking about baptism and she told me I was baptized when I was little."
"Oh well I suggest you talk to the pastor or Christine and see what a double baptism means and what could happen."
"ok I'll talk to Chris and see if she knows and if she doesnt i'll talk to the pastor."
