Prologue

I left.

I left the Philippines, to forget the pain and heartache na dinulot nuon sakin.

Na dinulot niya.

That was two years ago. Para makalimutan sya.

I'm Kaylee Sofia Sarmiento, 20 years old. Graduate ng Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. I'm currently working sa business ng father ko. Sarmiento Realty Corp.

I'm currently here on states for two years. Naging maganda din sya dahil nakalimutan ko si Vince nang ganoon kadali.

Yes. Magtataka kayo kung bakit ko sinasabi to. Wanna know why? Gusto ko kasing maging aral to.

Na  huwag maniniwala sa taong alam mo sa umpisa palang lolokohin ka.

I'm telling you my story to give you a lesson. Ayoko na kasing maulit yun nangyari sakin two years ago.

"Kaye?" May taong bumasag ng pagiisip ko. Nang lumingon ako. Its Harold. He's my guy best friend. Alam ko may feelings sya sakin noon pero now, I don't know.

"Yes?" I asked. He's smiling like a kid. Oh no. Parang ayoko nang malaman.

Lumapit sya sa upuan ko sa office. Yes. Nandito ako sa office ng father ko.

Currently working nga diba?

"Kaye, Tito needs us. Its a board meeting and they want to meet you." Ako? Gustong makita ng board? Bakit naman? This past few days kasi masyado akong busy dahil na rin sa business ng family namin.

Haist. I guess I have no choice. Lumingon ako sakanya at ngumiti. "Lets go. Harold. Papa must be waiting." Sagot ko sakanya tsaka lumabas ng office.

Lahat ng tao napapatingin sakin. Of course bakit ba naman Hindi? I'm one of the ladies na kinikilala ng business world and besides I'm fashionable wearing white shirt na nakatali sa harapan, messy bun, at black jeans and nude sneakers.

Sumakay kami ng elevator. I don't know why pero two years ko nang kasama si Harold pero naiilang parin ako sakanya.

Nang dumating kami sa floor ng office ni Papa, pumasok agad kami.

"Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen, sorry for being late, I've been busy last time." I said greeting them.

Papa looked at me and smiled. He look at Harold and he's smile furrowed. Bakit?

Anyways, Lumapit ako kay Papa. I kissed him in the cheek at nagbow sa board. Umupo si Harold sa tabi nang papa niya.

"Papa, why am I here?" Bumulong ako Kay papa. Ngumiti si papa sakin na mas kinakaba ko.

Parang may Mali...

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I want you to meet the new CEO of Sarmiento Group of Companies in Asia, my daughter, Kaylee Elise Sarmiento" Sabi ni Papa sabay tingin sakin.

Oh no. I don't like this.
