He caught her.

After two days of running and hiding, he found her. She tried to fight but her weak attempt seemed to amuse him more than hurt him. At least until she dug her nails into his cheek leaving bloody scratch marks. His fist upside her head was worth it to wipe that triumphed, smug look off his face.

By the time her head stopped spinning, she was being dragged by her hair once again.

She didn't know what else to do but cry. Why was this happening to her? How could there be nothing around for miles and miles? What else could she do?

Don't give up!

She wouldn't. "Why are you doing this?" She screamed the question, but it ended on a sob. "Why?"

Her tormentor didn't answer. He never did. Since he's taken her, he hasn't uttered one word. She didn't even know if he could speak but she knew he was intelligent. He knew exactly what he was doing. Behind his cold blue eyes lived evil. He was completely aware of what he was doing, and he was enjoying every minute of it.

She's always been able to see a little more of people than was normal. She knew the guy who lived under the bridge close to her house was the saddest person she's ever met. His pain had called to her when she was fifteen.

Every week she went to visit him for an hour or two. He was still the saddest person she's ever met. He wears his pain like a jacket he has no intentions of ever taking off. His wife and four children were taken from him when his house burned down. He had every right to be sad. Had every right to live his life how he chose.

She knew Seth was a good, honest person who cared for her. Whatever had happened at that party to cause him to kiss another girl, she knew he didn't do it to hurt her.

And she knew her abductor had no intentions of ever letting her go. Right now, he was enjoying the fight. The chase. When she stopped fighting, then her true hell would begin. Because that's when she would meet the evil that hid behind his eyes.

So, she fought.
