Chapter Sixteen: Meeting New People
The Gallery would start in two hours and I’ve got all my collections of different canvas in the attic and transferred it to Jeric’s car. Luckily, Toby helped me clean it last night and what was weirder, Mom didn’t go home last night and I was scared, scared that maybe something happened to her.
Honk! Honk!
I opened the door to see Jeric with his car and I took my bag in the kitchen counter and searched for Toby but he wasn’t in the kitchen. Might as well call him.
“Toby! We have to go!”
Little footsteps came down of the stairs and dashed to the front door off to Jeric’s direction who was now standing and leaning in his car and scooped Toby and twirled him around. I smiled at them and locked the door and went up to them. They were doing some fists bro then chuckled when Toby’s cute face frown when he can’t do what Jeric was teaching him.
“C’mon buddy! Time for school!” I ruffled his hair and went to the passenger seats.
Once we dropped Toby in his school, Jeric immediately reversed his car to the direction of our school.

“Phoebe! Look at your works! It gives life around the gallery i would say to be honest.”
Rachel kept on giving nice compliments with all the canvas I brought and let’s not forget about the Painting of my father. As soon as Jeric and I run to the hall, I didn’t hesitate to grab him and run to my arts class and to my surprise, Mrs. Monroe was outside of the door holding the painting to me. I smiled at her and she gave me compliments as I’ve remembered she said,
“This is absolutely stunning and gives the best emotions out of it. I knew you would do this, and by the way, get that scholarship! You deserve it!”
I was happy to hear her say that and I was now excited for the visitors to come. It also made my mouth drop and happier when Rachel put all of my work in the middle of the Gallery and the most outstanding of it all was the painting I just painted recently. His smile was giving life to this Gallery and I couldn’t thank him enough in my prayers.
“Wow Rach. I couldn’t thank you enough.” I felt myself crying right now because of happiness and the fact that Jeric is beside me, supporting on my awaiting career.
Rachel shook her head and grabbed my hand, “No, I should be the one thanking you for allowing me to share your works and I’m grateful to have your future bright! I’ll wait for those long speeches!” she winked. I laughed and hugged her.
Soon enough, guests are now filling the Gallery room and Rachel and I couldn’t hold our excitement back. Jeric was nowhere to be found and I know how he hates being in a crowded room. My eyes search for a certain school and when my eyes landed on the entrance door, my eyes popped out, my mouth dropped and almost made me squeal at the sight of my dream school.
New York Studio School is here!
Well, isn’t it exciting?

The whole crowd were mostly staring at my artwork and I couldn’t be happy enough with a simple artwork of that, will make all the people grabbed its attention. Professor made a promise that he’ll put me in a reserved list in the school records and will give me time to think about the offer. I couldn’t say no to this. Oh my God! I’m happy! Oh my God!
