It all started 2 years ago. Threats from North Korea became reality, and a Third World War began. Countries became allies, then stabbed each other in the backs. That's what happened with Canada and Switzerland. The Swiss army assassinated the Canadian government, the royal family taking power. The king appointed his only son to run their new kingdom, deeming him worthy. The young prince was furious with a small group of people in Canada, and took his revenge out on the entire population. Taxes went up, new laws were created, and a 50 foot boundary wall was built around the country borders, to keep everyone in. The number of homeless people rose, and now you couldn't find enough food to give each just one meal. Over 95% of the population lives in poverty, and with each year, the numbers keep rising. Everyone lives in misery, including the prince himself. Crime rates have gone up, people are scared to walk alone, at any time of day. They're doing whatever they can to protect themselves. You may wonder why anyone still lives here anymore, well the answer is simple.
The law states no one can leave.
Disclaimer: I do not have anything against Switzerland. I actually think it's a beautiful country, and would love to visit it. The Next Step tells you, however, that Alfie is the prince of Switzerland, which is the only reason I chose it to conquer Canada. I am in no way trying to say I think Switzerland is evil. Apologies to anyone who is Swiss, and felt offended by this.
