(unedited)
It's getting late, and my curfew is almost upon us. I tell Liam to step on the gas, I can't be late again.
Just a few minutes before ten, we pull up in front of my house and I breathe a sigh of relief.
"I told you we'd make it, didn't I?"
I stare down at my hands and giggle a little bit.
"Whatever."
His hand reaches over and moves my chin gently so that I'm looking at him.
"I'm sorry I scared you, we'll leave earlier next time."
A small smile makes its way onto my lips and I nod slightly, though it's kind of difficult with Liam's hand still tenderly holding my chin.
He leans over and lightly kisses me before letting go of my chin and moving back to the middle of his seat.
I open the car door and grab my purse off of the floor before looking back at him and saying, "I love you," and stepping out onto the pavement.
"I love you, too."
I close the door and walk around the front of the car as I sling my purse over my right shoulder.
I check my watch and started digging around my purse for the keys to the front door and begin walking slightly faster so that I'll actually get inside on time.
Just as I step up to the door, my fingers find my keys and I quickly pull them out and push them into the door, unlocking it and turning the handle.
As I push the door open and step into the house, I turn around and wave to Liam before seeing him wave back and drive away.
I close and lock the door behind me before shoving my keys back into my purse and walking down the hall to my room, saying a quick hello to my parents as I open my bedroom door.
I set my purse down and turn flip the switch on the wall to turn on the overhead light.
There's a pile of envelopes on my bed, all of which have been torn open but still have pieces of paper in them.
I pick one of them up and look at the front of it, seeing that it's addressed to me. A quick look at the rest of them tell me that they're all addressed to me.
I lean over them to turn the lamp by my bed on and then walk back to the door to turn off the overhead light and close the door.
I pick up all of the letters and move them to a different part of my bed before sitting down on my bed and taking my Albino Converse off moving so that I'm sitting cross-legged with my back against the wall.
Leaning over to pick the letters up, I wonder who sent them to me and then check the return address on one of them.
Celina Frost
A large smile forms on my lips. I haven't heard from her in so long.
I search through all of the letters to see which one has the earliest date on it.
That's when I realize that my parents have been keeping these from me for a long time. After sorting them by date, I find that the first one is dated Saturday, November 11, 2017 and the last one is dated Tuesday, January 2, 2018.
Why would they keep these from me for so long?
I start to read.
