It soon became dark and chilly, it was October after all. Hayley's Mom and Uncle left and the group of friends walked down to the lake known as "Lost Lake". They had all been going there since they were younger but they never happened to go at the same time, until now. When they reached a certain spot on the edge on the lake, there was a pile of logs sitting in a freshly dug pit which would be used as a bonfire.

"Wow," Hayley said with amazement. "Did you help with this too?" Hayley asked to her friends. "No, we had no idea," Emily said. "This one is on us," Noah said. "Do you like it?" Isaac asked. "We love it!" Sarah and Bailey said. The boys all looked at each other with a sigh of relief. Sam and Daniel started to light the fire while Isaac and Noah brought out blankets and things to make s'mores.

Once the fire was ablaze and the blankets were in place, they all sat down. Noah and Hayley shared a blanket, Sarah and Sam, Emily and Isaac, and Bailey and Daniel all did the same. Emily, Sarah, and Bailey all looked at each other and started whispering. "I'll be right back," Bailey said. "Do you want me to come with you?" Daniel asked. "No, thanks though, Emily and Sarah can you come with me?" She replied. "What about me?" Hayley asked. "You, stay here," Sarah said. Hayley was confused, once again, but stayed put and rested her head on Noah's shoulder. "Isaac, are you ever going to ask out Emily?" Hayley asked. "I want to, I really like her an-", he started. "Just ask her, man," Sam said cutting him off. "Yeah, trust me, all she does is talk about you and how much she wishes you'd ask her out," Hayley added. Isaac's face lit up, he'd been trying to work up the courage but was afraid she would say no.

"You're the only one of us who isn't in a relationship," Noah said jokingly but also being serious. "You two always look so happy when you see each other," Hayley added while starting to shiver. Noah gave her his jacket and wrapped his arms around her. "Guys, look up at the sky," Daniel said. They all looked up to see the sky lit up like a Christmas tree with stars. "It's so beautiful out here," Hayley said. "Don't you wish it could be like this all the time?" Sam asked. "Definitely," Noah responded. The three girls returned with boxes wrapped in wrapping paper. "We've come bearing gifts," Emily said. "Aww guys, you didn't have to get me anything," Hayley said while admiring the presents. She began to open her gifts, Emily, Sarah, and Bailey decided to make a group present; a scrapbook of the past years of their friendship. They also each gave her their own presents. Emily got her a North Face beanie, Sarah got her a beautiful leather bracelet with a dream catcher on it from her trip to the Mid-West, and Bailey got her a metal water bottle that was decorated with stickers from her favorite brands, bands, and fandoms.

Hayley thanked them all and hugged them. "I don't know how this night could get any better," Hayley sighed. "I know one way," Noah said. "And how wou-," Hayley turned to face Noah and tease him but was faced surprised to see a little ball of brown, black, and grey spotted fur. "Oh my god!!!!" Emily, Sarah, and Bailey squealed. Hayley was speechless, she couldn't speak or move.  "Do you want to hold him?" Noah asked while cradling the puppy in his arms. Hayley opened up her arms, still awestruck. "What are you going to name him?" Noah asked. "Apollo," Hayley said while stroking the little puppy's fur. Apollo was a Catahoula Leopard Dog, Hayley also lost her dog that she had had since she was a baby due to old age who looked almost exactly like Apollo. He was a very handsome dog with blue eyes, black patches, and grey and brown all over.

Hayley started crying, "Are you okay?" Noah asked while looking quite concerned. "I just can't believe you got me a puppy," Hayley sobbed. She sat down on the blanket and so did her friends. Noah wrapped his arms around Hayley while she put her head on his shoulder still crying. The rest of the group was silent but compassionate. "I'm sorry," Hayley said. "For what? You haven't done anything wrong," Noah said. "I'm crying for no reason and my makeup is probably running and I probably look terrible now," Hayley said as she wiped her eyes. Noah then wiped away some running mascara from under Hayley's eyes and gently kissed her forehead. "You'll always look beautiful to me," he said sweetly. "Aww," the girls cooed. "Hey Emily, can we go for a little walk?" Isaac asked. Emily nodded and they walked away, Sarah, Sam, Beth, and Daniel did the same but in a different direction. Hayley set Apollo in between her's and Noah's legs while looking up into Noah's eyes.
