Irene's POV:
No! I had her and she got away! How?! Her knee is completely ruined! I just don't understand. It doesn't matter now, I have to go. I must get away from here. If I know Jim Moriarty, and I most certainly do, he will come after me and most likely try to kill me after what I did to his child. No matter, I will be long gone before he even gets near this flat. Now, let me see here, I can only pack the essentials. But what about the boy? Oh, Jim can have him. He had no use to me anyway. All he was, was just another mouth to feed. I was going to dispose of him, but Jim can have him instead. Trust me, he won't be seeing me or hearing from me for a long time.
Alice's POV:
He picks up the phone after one ring. "Yes." he says in a haste. I take a deep breath. "Moriarty," I begin, "I have the Phantom. She made her way to Baker Street. She is hurt very badly and has lost a lot of blood. Please, come quickly! She needs you!" I explain and plead to him. He quickly replies, "I'm on my way." As quickly as the conversation starts, it ends just the same. I just hope Sherlock and John return long after they leave. I can't imagine what would happen if Sherlock found out that Jim Moriarty, let alone his daughter, were here on Baker Street. Quite frankly, I don't want to find out seeing as I would be in serious trouble because I let them get away. No matter, in this moment Jim Moriarty is a father trying to find his child to bring her home. I know that deep down somewhere he would do the same if it were me, but I hope that doesn't happen any time soon. I go back to check on the Phantom and she is still asleep. Mrs. Hudson and I keep checking her bandage and try our very best to keep her blood circulating. Sheesh! It feels like it's been forever since I contacted Jim Moriarty. I know that he is coming as fast as he can, but her chance at survival is hanging in the balance here! She is stable, but at this moment we have no idea how much blood she actually lost. She needs proper medical attention, and I mean more than a nine (almost ten year old) and a land lady can provide. "Mrs. Hudson, how long has it been?" I speak up breaking the deafening silence. "Only 5 minutes, dear." Mrs. Hudson responds. I feel her comforting hand on my shoulder as she comforts me, "Don't worry, love. Mr. Moriarty is on his way and he will be here before we know it. The Phantom is in good hands. She will be alright." I look up to see her smiling eyes and I wrap my arms around her. I am really worried about the Phantom. That is one hell of an injury! I just hope she will pull through.
Before I know it, the front door opens and footsteps start creeping in. Oh god. The moment of truth. I whip my head around to the sound. I proceed walking to the front door to meet whoever is there. Standing there, before me is none other than the consulting criminal himself, James Moriarty, "Where is she?" he says to me with the concern evident in his voice. "This way." I respond. I lead him to Mrs. Hudson's flat and I swear I heard both his stomach and whatever he considers his heart drop to the ground. "I swear to you we took good care of her. She lost a lot of blood, but luckily she didn't fall into complete unconsciousness." I explain. He crouches down beside her and begins to stroke her hair. "Thank you, both of you for taking care of my girl. I am forever in your debt, but I promise you that if either one of you tells anyone what you saw or what has happened today, I will make you regret it. Once we step out that door, this temporary truce is over." Moriarty says in a threatening, but protective tone. I nod my head in agreement and understanding along with Mrs. Hudson as we continue watching the scene unfold.
Jim's POV:
"Where is she?" Is the first thing that escapes my mouth. Alice then proceeds to lead me to what I assume is Mrs. Hudson's flat. We get to the sitting room and my breath hitches at the sight before me. My child. My baby lays asleep on the sofa with her leg covered in what I was informed was her own blood and her face looked so broken that my heart and my stomach dropped. How her mask is still in one peace I don't know, but I am grateful it still is. I walk carefully over to her so I don't disturb her peaceful slumber. I crouch down beside her and gently stroke her hair to let her know that I'm here. This moment and this moment alone I am not the consulting criminal. I am a father caring for my child. I stand back up and turn to face the two individuals covered in my child's blood and say, "Thank you, both of you for taking care of my girl. I am forever in your debt, but I promise you that if either of you tells anyone what you saw or what has happened today, I will make you regret it. Once we step out that door, this temporary truce is over." I take my over coat off and wrap it carefully around her body and carefully scoop her into my arms as to cradle her like she was a newborn baby again making sure to give extra support to her bad leg. I let her rest her head against my chest and I walk us out of the Baker Street flat so I can finally bring my little girl home.
Flashback:
I am jolted awake by a scream coming from beside my bed. So, I get up and make haste towards the small cradle on the other side. In the cradle lies a little baby girl who is scared. My face softens when my brown eyes look into hers. I pick her up and cradle her to my bare chest so she can hear the sound of my heart beat to calm her sobs. "It's alright, my little Phantom." I begin to coo to her, "Daddy's here, little one. Daddy's here now. No one is going to hurt you. Just relax. Everything is alright." I smile down at the small being in my arms bouncing her up and down and walking over to the rocking chair in the corner. I start to sing a soft lullaby as she falls back asleep peacefully in my arms. *Hello, my dears! Welcome back! I think I have finally got everything on track! I am finished with college and my job is going great. I hope to update more frequently. I am sorry that this is a little short, but I hope you liked it. Phantom is finally back with Jim after what feels like forever. I am surprised though that none of you have asked me about Phantom's name or in fact about Aiden. No matter. Everything will be revealed in due time. Stick around and I will try not to disappoint. If ever you don't like something please let me know and I will change it. Thank you all for your patience! Sending love everywhere! ~ thedoctorsvamp*
