Prison's so much worse when your identity is completely wiped from existence. When you've got no one to call, no one to come visit you, because no one knows where you are. And when you've got corrupt cops into the mix, you know no one is going to bother doing a background check.
"I don't trust that guy," Bobby muttered. They were let out their cells for lunch.
Dean sighed, picking at the so-called "food" on his tray. All he could think about was (Y/N) and if they were even alive. Would Sam be able to find her/him? Or would he get killed in the process?
"Hey did you hear me?" Bobby waved.
Dean blinked, looking up from his food to give Bobby his attention. "What'd you say?"
"I said I don't trust that guy," Bobby repeated. "Crowley. I feel like he's up to something."
"Whatever he's up to is none of our business. We just gotta keep our heads down and hope that someone will get us out of here," Dean shrugged, taking a sip from his cup of water. All he wanted was to get to (y/N). If that meant dealing with a sketchy guy like Crowley, then so be it.
"When you start owing him favors, that's when it becomes our business."
"We don't have many options, Bobby. I mean, I don't feel good about it either, but we need this guy. He has connections down here that we don't."
Bobby sighed. "Dean, you're like family to me. Even though I still think this is a terrible idea, I'll stick by your side. But don't say I didn't warn you."
~Time Skip~
It wasn't easy, but you managed to slipped past the guards positioned on the street and through the back entry of the hotel Gabriel was staying at. By the time you got to his door, there was loud music emanating from the room. You approached the door and knocked twice, listening in.
Telling you what your heart meant
The door swung open to reveal Gabriel in just a white robe. "Well glad to see my brother picked a smart one," he grinned and stepped aside. "Step right in."
The heat of the moment, shown in your eyes...
Brother? Something didn't add up. Nonetheless, you walked in and let him shut the door behind you.
"What's your name?" He asked, sitting down at the edge of his bed.
I shook my head, "That's not what I came here for."
Gabriel nodded, pouring himself a glass of champagne. "Right... you came here to kill me. Drink?"
He held out the glass, but I shook my head. "Lucifer's your brother," I said. "Sibling rivalry get in the way of business?"
The grin on his face was starting to fade. "Like I said, my brother picked a smart one," he raised the glass to his lips and chugged it till there was nothing left. "You came here because you're curious. Lucifer's got you on his payroll, but he's not telling you anything. Am I right?"
"I asked a question." Your arms were crossed, waiting for a response.
He sighed. "Straight to business aren't you? Well, if you must know, Lucifer and I don't really get along. At least, not like we used to."
"What changed?"
"Our family's divided. And he wanted me picking sides," he shrugged, "When I told him I wanted out, he didn't like what he heard. I know a lot of his company secrets and the only way out this business for me is in a body bag."
"I've heard word about some project Lucifer's invested in, something to do with weapons," you told him. "Happen to know anything about that?"
He stood up from the bed and moved toward the window. His back was turned to you as he pulled the curtain back, looking out at the night sky. "I know Lucifer's trying to start an all out war. All his 'investments' are just him preparing his army. Those weapons he's investing in building are nuclear. He wants to light a match and watch the world burn. He calls it, 'The Apocalypse.'"
"He's building bombs? Why?"
"So he can sell them to the highest bidder. I don't know if you've watched the news lately, but a war's coming. Everyone's scared and who better to profit from that fear than my brother?"
Some of what he was saying made sense, but there was something missing. "But what's his motive? Besides money, since he already has plenty."
A low chuckle came from Gabriel as he turned back to face you. "You still don't get it, do you?"
"Enlighten me then," you said.
"I don't ask my brother why he does the things he does," he shrugged. "I just know he will do anything he can to piss our dad off. Did that help?"
You still had so many questions. "Not really."
His eyes darted to the window then back to you as he let go of the curtain. "Well we don't have much time seeing as your guards finally noticed you left."
Shit, you thought. You still had more questions. If they found you with him alive, you'd both be dead. You reached a hand inside your jacket, grabbing your pistol. Before you could pull it out, he yelled, "Wait!"
"I'm sorry," you pulled out the gun and raised it to his head. He held his hands up in surrender.
"66," he said, looking you straight in the eye before suddenly, the lights shut off. Suddenly, a puff of smoke filled the room, which triggered the smoke detector. You pulled the trigger instantly, waiting to hear him fall to the floor. The song from earlier played on, sounding like it was just on repeat. Your gun was still raised, ready to kill whatever looked like it was moving. Between the sound of the music and the loud beeping of the alarm, it was difficult to even focus on your sight. Soon, the smoke began to clear out, seeping out the window and through the door. You lowered your gun slowly, feeling your whole body pulsing from your heart beat.
