don't ask.

Finn groaned exasperatedly as he fell backwards onto the plush white sheets of his hotel bed, exhausted after hours upon hours of tedious posing and beyond obscure shoots.
It was obvious enough that the fifteen year old cherished his livelihood with all his body's content, it truly was. However Finn couldn't help but feel dejected in that he rarely got any time for himself alone. In that there seemed to be fewer and fewer things he found even the least amount of allure in -- genuine -- allure in.
Once he'd lazily stared up at his phone screen moments after it vibrated from inside his pocket he reached the realization that surely the most giving of those few lied right at his fingertips most of the time, just not today though. Because they were filming in Los Angeles and what he found the most comfort in now resided even closer.
He smiled warmly as his music torn hands glided across his vtd, demeanor suddenly changed entirely. Jacob had just messaged him. He'd somewhere in a mass of abbreviations and miscellaneous heart emojis just asked for Finn's his room number.
They'd both agreed to meet once the photos were all taken. The young star had not notified his boyfriend just yet but with a following like his own, word certainly got around quickly. //
"102, Be here in a hurry... Feelin flustered 💙"
// Finn tossed his phone somewhere atop the mass of blankets beneath him and rolled onto his stomach, sleep nearly engulfing him then and there -- everything was soft.
A little over half an hour passed when he had the other sent up to his floor once he'd arrived, he'd only snapped out of such a hazy state when he heard a knock at the door. Subtle yet distinct, in great resemblance of someone else he knew~
He opened it to reveal his lover, flowers in hand and farouche smile plastered on his face. To the contrary of what media made him out to be, Jacob was actually quite shy and timid. Insecure in most ways, which admittedly made Finn beyond indignant at times. Jacob was perfect to him in almost every aspect, he had no reason to be.
"Gosh you're so cheesy. How'd you have time to buy these?"
Finn took the bouquet with a smile, it sincerely being something well needed to brighten up a fairly dismal day.
"Well I just had them lying around actually..",
Jacob began jokingly after closing the door. Finn rolled his eyes before abruptly pulling Jacob in for prolonged embrace. The straight-haired teenager was caught a bit off guard by this, eventually wrapping his arms around his sweetheart as Finn buried his face into his flannel shirt.
Before long he realized that Finn's breathing had grown messy and his back stuttered sharply into his own form -- flowers flush against the carpet. When he'd reached that his boyfriend was crying his own chest began to ache. Being someone who'd recently had to cope with depression, the idea of someone so strong growing this vulnerable in an instant hurt him immensely.
He tried distance himself from the now whimpering male while directing him back over to the bed where he then pulled him impossibly close into his space, soothing him and rubbing circles into his back lovingly.
"Babe, what's wrong?"
He tried his best to comfort him how he was used to himself, something was just telling him that the effect wasn't quite the same.
Finn wiped his tears onto his sleeve and turned to face the nape of Jacob's neck, voice now weak and hiccuped with sobbing.
"Sometimes i question myself like... am i really cut out for this? Oh god~ it's all been so fucked lately ."
Jacob ran a reluctant hand through dark curls and spoke, a bit unsure of himself.
"Finn. It's just like you used to tell me -- this life chose you for a reason. You're so much better than the bs. You just have to know that."
"I know, it's just --"
"Stop with the excuses already."
The last thing Finn had expected was for always mild-tempered Jacob to speak to him strongly. But now that he had, he was definitely listening.
"I know you, Wolfhard. And this right here --"
He pulled him back by the waist, a hand roaming north and wiping a tear away symbolically. His tone grew timid again.
"This isn't you."
Finn looked down timorously through thick, dark eyelashes that casted shadows onto erubescent frecklely cheeks.
Jacobs hand fell low slowly, roaming at Finn's lips for a moment before closing the distance between them. The kiss was slow and passionate. Drenched in a cocktail of want, suspense and fear.
Jacob's personal greatest fear relationship wise was that all the drama would eventually tear them apart or worse. But he'd never wanted it to come to this. There was no need for either of them to sacrifice their own mental health and they both knew it not too deep down. This may not have been the farthest thing from either of their minds in this moment, but if it was they ignored it well, to say the very least.
What was to come next remained unsure until it inevitable reared its ugly head at last. However through it all they learned to value what they had while they still had it. To love while it lasts.
