Noah's POV
~~~~~~~~~~
I closed my eyes as the sound of my favourite song filled my head. The lyrics surrounded me and comforted me like an old friend. I closed my eyes and found myself in a trance. Music really does help people.
"Noah?"
My name snapped me from the peaceful world in my head.
"Oh um yeah?" Michael was a bright red colour and I realized I was leaning against him. I quickly sat up straighter and brushed my hair out of my eyes. "Sorry .." I mumbled quietly. He laughed. "It's fine! I just wanted to know if you wanted to exchange phone numbers."
That sounds a little gay
"Yeah okay." I said, searching for a paper in my notebook. I scribbled my name and number on a scrap piece I found and handed it to him. "Here. Sorry if my handwriting is sloppy. I'm better at drawing." He smiled. "It's fine. So do you think you'll be going to the dance?" I looked at him with confusion. "Dance?" "Oh right, this is your first day. There's a winter dance coming up. You going?"
All my gay mind could picture was Michael at the dance, dancing with me, our lips about the touch ..
"Noah? Noah I think we're at your house." I snapped back to reality and grabbed my backpack. "Yeah sorry I was thinking about .. something. Um, text me later?"
Idiot, he probably doesn't want to talk to you.
You're a loser.
"Oh yeah! Yeah I will."
What were you saying, depression and anxiety ?
I walked up to my front door and stumbled in, tripping over my cat. "Hewwo miss.." I said to her. She meowed delightfully in greeting. "Mom?"
"Noah! How was your first day?" My mom said as she entered the room, arms outstretched for a hug. "It was good. I made a friend. He's pretty cute. Okay he's like really cute but whatever." My mom squealed. "I ship it!" I chuckled and dropped my backpack on the couch before picking up my cat and scratching her ear. "His name is Michael. Michael Wulf."
"I go to work with a Daisy Wulf!"
Oh great.
"Don't tell her about it, Mom. We don't know these people.." My mom sighed and nodded.
That was the whole reason I left my old school. The school was homophobic and everybody hated me after they found out I was gay. But nobody will know this time. I'll be careful.
I grabbed my phone and clicked the screen on.
Unknown: Hey Noah! It's me, Michael!
I smiled. "Who ya texting?" My mom asked. "Michael." She gasped. "Slow down, cowboy. Don't rush into things." I rolled my eyes and walked into my room, closing the door behind me and Mia just slipping in.
"Come in, miss."
And that's how I fell asleep thinking about how the cute boy in my class texted me saying "Goodnight, cutie."
Ahh .. I'm pretty gay.
