"Beep beep Richie. God damn." Eddie complained, groaning in his hands. Richie was in full on Richie mode today and Eddie had no idea why. But he was getting tired of Richie's crap.

"Oh come on Eds! Why don't you like it?" Richie complained.
"Because, it's you Richie. That's why. Now you need to chill or else I'm leaving your sorry ass here alone." Eddie exclaimed shoving Richie's hand off of his shoulder. Richie pushed his glasses up on his nose and raised an eyebrow. Eddie was in such an Eddie mood today and Richie loved it. He loved everything about Eddie, even though sometimes he was a little germophobic. Eddie stormed off down the hallway and Richie grinned after him before following him.

"Okay, Eddie, I'm sorry. Pl-" Richie stopped himself, he was about to say please, he never said please, Eddie would know something was up if he said please.

"You're sorry?" Eddie asked. 'Oh shit' Richie thought, that hadn't been a thing he would say. Only when he was around Eddie would he get like that. If he were with anyone else, he would never have even thought of using those forbidden words.

"You're sorry? You cheated man! On a TEST!" Eddie exclaimed, stopping and spinning around, his arms flailing out on either side. Richie just bit his lip and crossed his arms.

"Come on Eds, it's not like I haven't done it before!"
"You have?!?!"

"Eddie, come on! This is me we're talking about here! Of course I've cheated on a test before!"
"You know what- whatever Richie. That's the last time I stay up all night helping you 'study' for the biggest test of the goddamn year!" Eddie yelled before turning and storming off through the crowd of people they had attracted in the hallways.

"Did you even study last night?" Richie chuckled at the thought of studying, then realizing that Eddie had walked away from him so he decided to squeeze through the people and chase after Eddie.
"Eds!" He called, pushing through person after person. "EDDIE!"
"Whoa, Richie. What happened to Eddie?" Stan asked, grabbing Richie's arm and yanking him out of the middle of the hallway, over to where he and Bill had been standing at Billy's locker. He'd almost been trampled by a stampede of girls.
"He ran away from me." Richie admitted.
"B-be-because you cheated?"
"How did you know that?"
"Ri-richie. You aren't as s-s-secretive as y-y-y-you think. Even Mr. Tony knows you cheated." Bill stuttered, slamming his locker shut causing all three of them too jump. That used to not bother them. But now..now any loud noise bothered them.
"I am a very sly cheater. No one knows."

Stan chuckled, "Ha, that's funny, I thought you just said no one knows you cheat on every freakin test ever given."
"I don't!" Richie protested. Stan raised an eyebrow and shot Billy a glance before he reached over and grabbed Richie's arm and yanked up the sleeve.
"Then what is all this?" Stan demanded. Richie gasped and tried to pull his arm away but Stan had a stronger grip than Richie had remembered. But to make it even harder Bill lurched forward and grabbed his wrist as well.
"W-w-what is this?!"
"NOTHING."
"Richie!"
"IT'S NOTHING." Richie finally managed to pull his hand away from the two of them. But it was too late. The boys had seen it. Richie tugged his sleeve back down and squeezed his eyes closed. Why did they have to see it? Why couldn't he have just gone with it and admitted that he cheated? That just wasn't Richies way, he would never admit he cheated on anything. But now, all he wanted was too let the boys think he had cheated.
"Richie-"
"No. Don't say anything. I don't need to hear it." Richie said.
"But you have Eddie's name written everywhere on your arm!"
"With l-l-little hearts a-a-around it!" Bill and Stan exclaimed, grabbing each other's arms with their hands. Richie pulled his arm into his shirt.
"I DO NOT!" Then he raced from the building and ran all the way home.

Eddie had raced home as well. Though as soon as he'd walked through the door he'd been bombarded with questions from his mother. How was your day? How was your test? Did you take your medicine? Eddie answered them all and more before he was finally able to get away and rush upstairs to his bedroom. He slammed the door just to get his frustration out. He turned around and threw his backpack at the ground before flopping like a fish onto his bed. Eddie was so sick of feeling this way. It seemed like it was almost every day now that Richie made him this way. Eddie had tried so hard to get Richie to pay attention last night and for awhile he thought he was actually getting somewhere. But after today seeing Richie cheat felt like a huge slap in the face to Eddie. He felt betrayed.
Still after all these years Richie Tozier was still the same. He would never change. And Eddie was beginning to see that. Eddie was beginning to lose all hope of his crush ever liking him back. He knew it would've been really fucking hard to explain that he was gay to his mom, she would probably throw him out- actually that was a lie, she would just keep him inside, safe from the outside world, safe from their wrath.
Eddie never planned on falling for Richie but there are some things you just can't control. And for Eddie that had Richie written all over it. He wasn't even sure why. Richie was loud and obnoxious and had terrible jokes but there was something else. There had to be... the part that Eddie liked. But those crazy parts of Richie were what Eddie liked. They were the things he could never get over. Eddie groaned and turned over. He noticed Richie's favorite sweatshirt tossed in a pile at the foot of his bed and he sighed. Richie must have left it here last night.
