Abigail's POV

I pushed my way through the throngs of teens and sighed heavily. This was my first day back at school and I was miserable. The entire student body turned to look at me, while gossiping freshmen whispered indiscreetly to their friends, no doubt spreading more rumors about me. You see, before I left school for a semester, I happened to be a bit of a bad girl. No one knew why I left, not even Grace, my best friend.

As I walked down the hall, my leather boots clacked on the cobblestone. I slowed to a halt and sighed. I wasn't looking forward to out visit. Stepping forward, I lightly tapped on the heavy wooden door that separated me and the decider of my fate. "Come in" she called. The witch looked up and scowled.

"I've been expecting you Abigail. Am I correct to assume that you're here to apologize and make your formal return?"

"Yes ma'am. I apologize for my previous uh shenanigans and I would like to be readmitted."

She sighed. "Hmmph. Well alright then. I can't keep you out considering you weren't kicked out, you left. Your class list and your locker number have remained the same. You are dismissed Ms. Tompson, but know that I have my eye on you."

"Yes ma'am! Have a nice day. "

I skipped out of her office and ran over to the steps of the Met to meet Grace and my friends.

"Gracie!" I squealed. I ran over to her and embraced her, only to be pushed away. Grace's look of surprise turned sour. "Abigail. How nice of you to, drop by. Now if you'll excuse me, I have plans." she said scornfully.

"Grace wait! I came to apologize for leaving. Please forgive me?" I pleaded with a knowing smile.

"Come on Gracie, I know you missed me."

"You're right Abby, I did. More than you will ever know. Party at mine at 8?" she inquired.

"Perfect! See you then!"

As I waltzed off, I heard her mutter, "Oh Abby dearest, haven't you learned your lesson?"

I turned around to see her smile. Now that smile I knew. Grace was up to no good.
