Happy birthday Lin-Manuel Miranda. A true hero and inspiration. I could honestly talk about him for hours, but I'll hold my tongue and allow you guys to read this Grofflin fluff.

Lin was sitting on his couch in his living room, not much to do. It was his birthday, so he occasionally was responding to birthday wishes on Twitter. Oddly enough, Jonathan Groff hadn't wished him a happy birthday. Nevertheless, Lin's day was going great. He had gone out in the morning to do God knows what. So there he was, in his living room. It had gotten dark as the evening began to set in, he shifted to lay down, but it only lasted a moment before he heard a knock on his door. With a loud groan of annoyance, he got up to answer the door, his feeling of annoyance left him, however, when he saw Jonathan Groff standing there with a smile and a bottle of champagne.

"Happy birthday Linny, I wanted to tell you in person," he purred in his typical fun-loving voice. Lin gave a soft chuckle and replied with a simple "thank you" as he held the door open so his friend could walk in. Jonathan did so and set the bottle down on Lin's coffee table. Lin closed the door and walked to the kitchen to get two glasses.

"So Jonathan, what brought you to bring me champagne and a 'happy birthday' in person?" He asked with a smile as he set the two glasses down on the table. "Oh you know, just wanted to make it more... special~" he replied flirtatiously. This wasn't new to Lin, Jonathan was always a little flirty with him. He figured it was just who he was because they were close friends.

Though Lin didn't know it, Jonathan had deep, affectionate feelings for the Puerto Rican. Jonathan had fallen in love with his bright and happy voice, his enthusiasm and positivity, his wide and happy smile that was almost cartoonish. He adored his deep, dark brown eyes that lit up when he laughed, he loved the look of concentration when Lin was writing or reading. The way his eyebrows knit slightly, the subtle squint of his eyes. Lin was like an angel to him. If angels were feisty and loud and liked rap/hip-hop music... But alas, Jonathan was crazy for Lin, only he didn't know how Lin felt toward him in return... Yes, they had kissed twice, and both times Jonathan longed for the moment to be more than a kiss... Lin's lips were soft and thin, fitting his perfectly, Lin had to stand on his toes slightly in order to lock his lips with Jonathans'. Jonathan found it cute. He remembered both times they had kissed.

Lin and Jonathan stood facing each other in the living room. Jonathan in front of the couch. They were smiling and talking. Philippa was holding a camera, knowing what Lin wanted to do. It was Jonathan's birthday and Lin wanted to make it... special. Jonathan had a look of confusion, Lin had a smirk plastered on his face. Lin glanced at the camera quickly before stammering rather quickly, "the internet told me to give you this for your birthday!" Before lunging forward and connecting their lips, the force of the kiss causing Jonathan to lose his balance. He wrapped his arms around Lin's waist as they fell back onto the couch behind them. In that moment, Jonathan felt sparks, a rush of happiness washed through him as he felt Lin's lips securely locked with his, the kiss not even breaking as they fell, Lin straddled Jonathan for a moment before pulling away and looking at him. The two were smiling like idiots. Deep down, Jonathan longed for that feeling again.

The feeling was eventually satisfied a year later on his birthday once again, Lin was with Jonathan on his birthday. They were at the theatre for "Hamilton" and Lin was filming with him.

"It's not a Groff day, #groffday, It's Groff WEEK!" He smiled. "Whaaaat!" Jonathan drawled happily. Lin turned to face him, his thoughts suddenly changing. "So, happy birthday, I know I got you a good present last year ummm so..." As Lin was speaking, Jonathan was glancing down at his lips. Lin continued "We're not topping that." "No," Jonathan said with a smirk. Lin thought he was done as he added a final statement. "So, good luck with the lotto-"

Before Lin could finish his sentence, Jonathan pressed his lips firmly against his. He made a sound of shock from the back of his throat but kissed back, closing his eyes right away and melting into the kiss. It was deep and passionate. Neither shared any regret.

Now it was Lin's birthday. Jonathan wanted it to be special, the same way Lin had made his birthdays special. They opened the champagne excitedly and Jonathan poured two glasses, handing one to Lin. The two sat and talked as they sipped the champagne, both enjoying each other's company. Jonathan was observing Lin, watching how he moved, how his hands flew about when he talked, the way his eyebrows occasionally moved up or down, his eyes would occasionally dart around. Jonathan loved his childish giggle and the way his face scrunched up when he laughed. All his quirks and dorky moments were adorable to Jonathan, Lin seemed like the perfect person to him. Happy and fun, loving and sweet, honest and sympathetic, quirky and cute. Lin was just an all around positive person, and Jonathan adored him. This stupid crush of his had existed for a long time, as long as he could remember knowing Lin. Something about the Puerto Rican just caught his attention, whether it be his smile, his laugh, his eyes, his cute body, his quirky personality, or the whole damn package, something set Jonathan into a trance over Lin.

And with Jonathan being too gay to function, he often made it painfully obvious that he had a crush on Lin. Staring at him and laughing at everything he said. Blushing around him. Jonathan tended to be very touchy with him as well. Wrapping his arms around him, petting him, even smacking his ass while backstage once.

"Jonathan? Are you listening to me?" Lin whined and pouted. Jonathan snapped out of his daze and looked at him. "Sorry Lin... I was just daydreaming," he said as he went to wrap his arms around Lin. Lin blushed and smiled. "About what Groffsauce?"

Jonathan chuckled at the nickname. He bit his lip, deciding to answer Lin's question honestly. "You," he admitted. This caught Lin's attention. He looked at him with those piercing dark brown eyes. "W-what?" Lin stuttered. "I was thinking about you... And... All the times we did things like this."

Lin seemed intrigued by what Jonathan was saying, he didn't realize Jonathan held those moments so dearly in his heart. Not that Lin had forgotten them, he simply never realized that Jonathan felt the same way about those memories.

"Hey Linny, I have your present..." Jonathan mumbled and looked into his eyes.

"Oh? And what would that be?"

Jonathan needed no thoughts or instructions, he leaned forward and connected their lips. Lin gasped and kissed back almost instantly. Finding comfort in the feeling of Jonathan's lips on his. Everything just seemed right. Like this was always meant to happen, as if their lips were two puzzle pieces just dying to be put together so the puzzle could be complete. Neither men wanted to pull away, they wanted to linger in this precious moment. When they finally did pull away, it was slow, they each let out a breath and leaned their heads against each other.

"Jonathan... You know what would make my birthday perfect?"

"What?"

"If you were mine~" Lin admitted with a dark blush that radiated across his lightly tanned skin. Jonathan's eyes lit up, without thought or worry, he let the truth flow out of his mouth. "Then I shall be yours."

They locked eyes, Jonathan's light, frosty blue eyes were lost in Lin's dark brown eyes. It seemed as though everything for them was... Perfect.

"Happy birthday Lin. I have but one last gift."

"Another one?"

"I love you. I have for a long time."

Lin smiled that wide, innocent smile that drew Jonathan in the very first time they had met.

"I love you too..."
