The snow!

Mal and Evie have never been in snow, ever. They've seen it over Auradon, but the barrier blocked it from reaching them.

When they got to Auradon, Mal never really thought of it. She didn't care enough.

Evie, on the other hand, was ONLY thinking about it. She wondered how cold it was, what the fluffiness felt like.

Mal was laying on her stomach in Evie's bed drawing when Evie came through the door with a big smile on her face.

"MAL MAL! DID YOU HEAR?! WERE GETTING SNOW TONIGHT!" Evie yelped.

"Correction: were SUPPOSED to get snow tonight. Things can change. The weather isn't always right." Mal said looking up from her notebook.

"Come on M, have a little bit of hope!" Evie suggested.

"I'm just not as excited about it as you are." Mal said. Evie rolled her eyes and made her way to Mal and sitting on the bed next to her.

"Don't you wonder how cold it is? What it feels like? How long it would take to build a snowman?" Evie said still smiling and putting an arm around Mal who is now sitting up.

"Not really. But I'm happy you're so excited. If it does snow, we'll go outside and play in it. I promise," Mal smiled as Evie kissed her forehead. They weren't dating, they just have massive feelings for each other and just call things like that "best friend behavior".

Evie stood from her bed and went to her desk.

"When is it supposed to?" Mal asked.

"It WILL at 7" Evie replies making Mal giggle a little. Mal really didn't want Evie to get her hopes too high for it. It's 2 hours away and that's plenty of time for the weather to change.

1 hour and 45 minutes later.

Mal got back to the same laying position she was in before Evie came in and continued drawing, while Evie was anxiously watching the Weather. It hasn't changed. Mal had hope it wouldn't change for Evie's sake. She hated to see Evie upset or disappointed.

Evie looked at the clock on her phone and smiled even bigger.

"15 MINUTES M!!!! WE GOTTA GO GET READY!" She yelled before running in the closet and grabbing a bunch of jackets, long pants, gloves, and beanies.

"Evie, calm down. It's probably not gonna happen right at 7." Mal said. Evie didn't listen. She was busy getting into a huge dark blue jacket, blue leather gloves, blue ear muffs and black snow boots she's had in the back of her closet just in case.

"Come on Mal!"

Mal finally gave in and walked over to the blue haired girl who have her the same things, but in purple and black.

By that time it was 5 minutes until 7. Evie grabbed Mal and her phone and ran out the door.

"I heard it's supposed to snow so much that they cancelled school tomorrow!" Evie yelled while running down the halls to the exit.

They ran outside and waited...

Waited...

Waited...

The smile never left Evie's face until it turned 7pm.

"Where is it?!" Evie asked.

"I told you, it's probably not gonna come right at 7. Give it time." Mal explained.

They waited for a while. Even when Mal went inside to make them hot chocolate it still hasn't started. Evie was very hurt.

By this time it was 7:10 and Evie had given up.

"Maybe some other time of year. I just really hoped for it tonight." She said hurt and started to walk inside.

Mal started to follow her but, then she felt something on her nose. Then another. It was happening, but Evie hadn't noticed it yet.

"Evie! Look!" Evie flicked her head around and looked at Mal. Then she saw it and gasped.

"M ITS SNOWING!" Evie exclaimed. She set her hot chocolate down on a table outside and walked back over to Mal.

The snow kicked up and everyone was outside playing in it. It's only been 15 minutes and it's already about an inch and a half deep. Mal and Evie were Making snow angels.

They stood up to admire them and laughed.

"It really does look like an angel!" Evie said.

"Yeah." Mal said. Then a sly smirk appeared on her face as she got an idea. As Evie was distracted, Mal grabbed snow and rolled it into a ball. She then threw it at Evie's back.

Evie turned around really fast and laughed.

"Oh you are gonna get it for that!" Evie yelled and grabbed snow.

"Oh yeah?" Mal three another one at her. They were having so much fun being covered in snow. They loved it. Once they got too tired to continue, they started to build a snowman. Mal made the bottom and Evie made the middle and they both made the top, as Evie put it together, Mal went to find things to make the face.

Once they finished that. They just stood together admiring how pretty it was and watching the boys fail at making a snowman. Which made the girls laugh.

Evie grabbed Mal's hand.

"It's so beautiful." Evie says. Mal looked at Evie. She looked so cute with snowflakes in her hair.

"So are you." Mal said barely above a whisper. Evie made eye contact with her and that's where it clicked. That's when everything came together. Evie slowly moved her hands to Mal's hips as Mal's hands ran up Evie's arms and their lips gently touched. Resulting in a few applause around them, which made Evie smile. They pulled away with a small pop and looked at each other in the eyes.

"Did you have fun?" Mal asked.

"Yeah. I did. Thank you Mal for coming out here and playing with me. I don't think it would be as fun without you." Evie said. She just realized how much Mal was shivering. "Do you want to go inside for a bit and warm up? You're really cold." Evie suggested

"Yeah." Mal said.

So they did. They went inside, made some more hot chocolate and cuddled by a fire. This is how they wanted to stay forever. Evie's arm around Mal and Mal cuddled into Evie's chest all warmed up.

" I love you." Mal whispered.

"I love you too."
