"So, he got angry?", Kit could only nod his head as he felt troubled.
"Hmm...this is very suspicious. Why would he get that angry when you mentioned his stepbrother, Charlem?", Beam asked as he placed his palm under his chins, looking serious as if he was thinking hard.
"It's easy. They're not on good terms", Pha stated as he flipped the magazine he was reading.
"So...Ming is angry at me because I'm hanging out with someone he doesn't like?", Kit questioned, finally looking up.
"That's the only reason I can think of at the moment. I mean, what makes it worse is that he's his stepbrother", Pha explained.
"I get it! Ai'Ming is jealous", Beam exclaimed as he stood up as he punched the air, feeling proud of himself whereas the other two were judging his actions.
"Do I need to get you a mic for you to tell the whole world?", Pha said as he rolled his eyes.
"Sorry. I couldn't help it".

"...it...Kit!", Kit snapped out of his deep thoughts when he felt Charlem poking his dimples.
"A-Ah...sorry. I was spacing out", Kit apologised, looking back at his reference books as he felt embarrassed.
"What's wrong? You look troubled the whole time, did something bad happen to you?", Charlem asked as he placed his hand onto Kit's.
And unfortunately, out of all time, Ming just had to be there now. Kit met Ming's gaze before Ming turned around, and left the library.
"Isn't that P'Ming?", Charlem questioned.
"Yeah...", Kit was tempted to chase after Ming but his legs weren't moving.
He wanted to ask why was Ming in school when he's usually absent. He wanted to know why didn't Ming come to greet him even though he noticed him. Was it because Charlem was there?
"Hey, you alright?", Charlem called out.
"Yeah, yeah. I am, what were you asking about?", Kit said and finally realised that Charlem hadn't remove his hand from his. He excused himself and slowly pulled his hand away with an awkward smile.
"Ah, sorry", Charlem apologised.
"Anyway, I was asking if you know my brother", Charlem smiled. Once again, Kit nodded his head hesitantly.
"...Did he tell you about us?", Charlem asked with a smile.
"N-No...he told me you're his stepbrother", Kit answered honestly.
"Hmm...Ming's mother is my father's mistress", Charlem stated bluntly as he played with the pen, twirling it around. Kit was shocked, he did not expect this. Totally not. Who would have thought that Ming is a son of a mistress.
"...do you...dislike Ming?", Kit asked warily, fidgeting in his seat as Charlem was now staring at him.
"Dislike...is not the word to describe how I feel for him. How do you say this? Well, I despise his very existence".
