Olivia's P.O.V***Not Edited
I was currently watching the cheerleaders practicing; just like in the Bring it on movies. I thought these kind of routine happen only in movies until they prove me wrong. Five girls flying in the air while five other guys waiting for them to come down. And the rest of them doing stunts. They were all in sync.
"Hold up guys! Who is she?" Asks a pretty girl with a perfect body size. Stopping the practice and make me the center of attention just like I anticipated it— I know, coming down here wouldn't end good but I did it anyway.
Her hair is the most prominent feature— her black hair is well permed and is of shoulder length.
But what seems to leave a bad impression of her is the fact that she is observing me from head to toe. Instead of addressing me directly she turns to her teammates in waiting for her response. As though I couldn't answer it myself. It appears that she has no common decency. She must be the captain because she was just standing in front of them and telling them what to do and how to do it. Also, her uniform has a distinctive design that sets her apart from the team.
" Don't worry about her Amber. She's just the girl that everybody's been talking about lately. Does the outcast girl rings a bell?" Says Sarah sarcastically, trying to get in my head.
She's chewing a gum like a wild pig to the point where you can hear the sound of it clearly—showing every bit of the inside of her mouth. I find it disgusting rather than cute as she thinks it is.That's Amber? I have heard so much about her from no particular person, of course. I just happened to hear some students talking about her in the hallways, like an everyday thing.
How pretty and a great cheerleader she is and not to forget, the rules she sets that for the school, to which she has humiliated and targeted the students that are neither popular or athletes.
"Oh! That's her?" Says Amber within a high-pitch voice that's snap me out of my thoughts and make me realize that my dimwitted self was still standing before them.
"She's beautiful..., but not as gorgeous as me of course?" She rejoins while twirling her hair causing her teammates to break into a hysterical laughter.
"Let's get back to practice girl, we don't have time for her today.., uhh maybe another day. We need to shine remember?" Continues Sarah with an annoying attitude; which was a cue for me to leave.
"Wait a minute! I'm having fun with her. Since you have the nerve to come in here and interrupt our practice; I presume that you have something to show us—perhaps something that will impress us." Amber says sarcastically, smirking at me in defiance.
At this very moment I wish I had enough confidence to show her what I have under my sleeves. I might not have ever been in a dance team but doesn't mean I can not dance. I watch many choreographies on YouTube and I even make my own dance routine.
If she hadn't come out like that I would have complimented her but the girl is too full of herself.
I stand there mute the whole time, afraid of saying something that would embarrass me. I let them do as they please. I'm starting to wonder if invisible is written somewhere on my forehead. Because my presence has never been acknowledged for an unknown reason. I don't know what is worse; the fact that my feet won't move or the continuation of Amber's insults."I don't reckon you would utilize pompoms., would you? Or you can sspare yourself the embarrassment and leave."
I manage to get my feet moving again with no further due I take some long awkward steps that gets me to the door faster and save myself from further comments. I walk back to the auditorium and grab my bag where I left it and make my way towards the c-gym—where the basketball court is. I enter the court looking around since I've never been to this gym. Our team is the only one here, warming up; so of them are shooting, others dribbling; practicing a little before the game starts and also a way to get their nerves out. Right then, I spot Lucas and Blake coming out of the locker room in their jerseys— I must say they look good, muscular with broad shoulders tat define their bodies. I wave to them and they wave back with a smile, appreciating my support. I nod in response.
