I was sleeping then my phone rang. I checked the time, and It's already 12:34 AM. Sinong may matinong isip ang tatawagan ako ng ganitong oras?
Ang dami na niyang missed calls, number lang eh, so bakit ko sasagutin if hindi ko naman kilala? I went back to sleep. I mean I tried to get back to sleep, pero tawag padin ng tawag. No choice kundi sagutin or else titiisin kong wag matulog mag-damag kahit may early class ako tomorrow.
"Hello? Who's this?" I hissed.
"It's Dean. Sorry did I wake you up?" Somebody answered and guess what..
"Dean? Oh okay. And yes, you did. What do you need? It's 12 midnight! Tsaka is this number yours? Or bumili ka bagong simcard?"
It was my Ex. I don't know kung bakit siya tumawag.
"I just want to hear your voice. I think we should fix this Katherine. I know we should." He sounded like he's drunk, and I bet he is. His voice is very husky and parang may cold. Usually kasi ganun yung boses niya pag medyo tinatamaan na siya ng beer. Kabisado ko na siya, 5 years ba naman.
"Alam mo, lasing ka lang kaya ganiyan ka. So please just let me sleep dahil may 7AM class pa ako tomorrow. I don't want to waste my time. Umuwi ka na and tigilan mo na yan." I may sound bossy but I don't care, baka mapahamak pa siya. Delikado na these days.
"No, I won't stop till you don't agree. Nakainom lang ako pero hindi ako lasing, alam ko ginagawa ko. Kath, please don't leave me. I want to win you back.." he answered me na parang iiyak. Hay, pag nakainom nga naman.
"Ikaw yung nakipagbreak sakin, diba? Tsaka I thought nag-kabalikan kayo ng ex mo?" I answered him.
"Who told you that?"
"Someone." Tipid kong sagot. Sinabi ito sakin ng best friend niyang si Paul. Close kami, because of Dean. We used to go out every weekend, like going to the beach, bar, mall and whatever. And thirdwheel lagi si Paul. Hahaha oh those days. Anyway, his ex messaged him right after we broke. She still loves him daw and sana sila nalang daw ulit. What a nice move, right? How pathetic. Lol. Teach me your ways!
"Was it Paul?" His background is very loud, parang nasa bar siya or something. I can hear his friends. And wait.. pati na din boses ni Paul. Oh God, lagot. Andun si Paul! Shit. Shit. Shit. "Uhm.. it's none of your busine.." hindi ko natuloy yung sasabihin ko, dahil pinutol niya ako. "Where's Paul? Bro, why did you tell her about Sofia? Diba we talked about it na?" Uh-oh. I can hear him talking to Paul. Oops. But, shit I'm worried. Nakainom na siya and baka kung ano pa magawa niya kay Paul. It's all in me, I shouldn't have said anything about his ex! I'm so stupid.
"Hello? Dean?" I'm panicking. Or am I just that paranoid and defensive na may alam ako about them?? Haha I don't know. Pero may tiwala padin naman ako kahit papaano kay Dean, hopefully hindi siya mag-wala doon. Kung nasan man siya. Lol.
"What are you talking about, Dean? What's with Sofia?" I heard Paul answered him back. Crossed fingers na sana hindi sila mag-away.
"Hang-up Kath, may kausap ako. I'll end the call nalang muna, basta just think about us and about what I said a while ago. Let's fix this, babe." He ended the call.
Did he just called me babe? Haha this is how beer affects you, people. Pero he made me the butterflies in my stomach alive again, even though he's also the reason why they became dead these past few weeks. Hay but I can't let this happen. Nasaktan na ako ng sobra, hindi ko alam kung mabibigyan ko pa siya ng chance. I want to think.
