prologue

"Chaeyoung-ah"

I look up to you "...yeah?" still holding my hot chocolate between my hands

"you're doing it again..."

"the what?"

"staring into space, silly!"

you smiled and gently caressed my left cheek.
it startled me
but
all i could do is stare.
cause when i stare into your eyes,
it couldn't be better.

feeling this warmth from your hand,
in this room filled with
chilling sensations i could not comprehend,
i couldn't help but blush.

a smile spreads across my face.

"what do you want to do today?"

i shrugged while smiling at my cup.
to be honest, i really don't want
anything else to do except
just to be here beside you with these blankets wrapped around us.

"hmm" you pouted

"alright, let's just watch some movies tonight" i said placing my hot chocolate in my desk.

we never get times like this
especially just only the two of us.
you rest your head gently on my shoulder, as the television turned on.

i ask myself:

am i dreaming?
is this really happening to me?

how lucky am i
to have a beaut like you,
to have you here sit right beside me,
watching netflix in the late winter evening
together with blankets
and hot chocolates?

my heart fluttered for a moment, but sinks when a phone call interrupted our time together.
