"What do you mean?" Emma asked. Her green eyes scanned the brunette's face for some sort of explanation, but Regina's face was an expressionless mask. She lowered the gun from her next to her head and dropped her arm next to her shaking body. The tears that had escaped her eyes had dried but had left her face streaked, her eyes bloodshot from the crying. Her pink lips parted slightly, small ragged breaths escaping them.

The brunette took a shaky breath and closed her eyes, trying to find the right words. If she messed up on anything, the blonde would soon see that what she was saying was just a ploy, most likely sending her into another attack; or attacking Regina. That wasn't something she wanted to happen.

"What I mean is, Miss- Emma, is that I now see what I have lost. The chance at a family, a real family. Me, Henry..." she looked up at the blonde, pushing a tight but firm smile, her dark chocolate eyes looking closely into the blonde's green ones.  "and you. I made a poor choice and now well... I have to pay it."

She took a step closer to Emma, closing the gap between them once more and bored into her eyes, searching for some sort of inkling that the blonde was buying what she was saying.

Emma's eyes widened and her mouth fell open, unable to process what she had heard. This had to be a lie...right? There's no way that Regina freaking Mills had feelings for her.  Emma blinked,  trying and failing to say anything coherent. After a few seconds of looking like an idiot and trying to close her gaping mouth, she finally mustered "You're lying...".

Regina shook her head and placed her hand on the blonde's cheek, a wave of relief washing over her when she felt her lean in to her touch. 'Good,' the brunette thought 'she's vulnerable... her feelings and unstable state making her weak. A little sheep waiting for the wolf to pounce'. She held in a smirk.

"Am I? We both know that I'm not... But, if you're not sure, use your super power." Regina said before she could think better of it. Shit... What was she thinking? Now the blonde would definitely see that she was lying.

Emma narrowed her eyes at the brunette, looking at her intensely, searching for any sign of lies. She scrunched her eyebrows in concentration, then shook her head. "I can't tell anymore..." She looked down at her feet, biting her lip as her mind ticked like clockwork. She wanted to believe Regina, she really did and from what she was seeing in the woman's eyes, it seemed to be true; but then again, this had also been the woman who was named the Evil Queen in some distant realm, hated and feared by everyone around her. The same woman who made everyone be put under a curse to get revenge on a single person.

Regina worried at her bottom lip, trying to think of a way to get the tall blonde to believe her fully. She needed to get the blonde to feel... she didn't even know. Remorse? No. She needed something stronger than that, she needed Emma to feel guilty. Regina with-held a smirk and thought back to the time where she had done the same to Graham, creating tears out of thin air. It had been good practice, but she needed a lot more than just crocodile tears.

Regina withdrew her hand from Emma's face and held it in her other, pressing it to her chest and playing with the ring on her left hand. The ring had belonged to the stable boy she had fallen madly in love with in her younger years. The thought of him made her chest ache, but that only added fuel to the fire. She had to do this, for her revenge; for Daniel. She had to avenge her fallen lover. She took in a shaky breath and closed her eyes, her brow furrowing as the painful memories helped bring tears to her eyes. Her bottom lip quivered slightly and she brought it between her perfect white teeth. This didn't go unnoticed by the Savior, causing her to frown deeply and press her lips into a thin line.

"I know there is nothing I can say or do to make you, or anyone for that matter, forgive me for the awful things I have done. I brought so much misery to every person here and, if I'm honest I don't even see why anymore. My need for revenge blurred my vision, making me blind to the things in front of me; If I had just let things go, Henry wouldn't have been put under that sleeping curse and now... I'm going to lose him, too-"
