right! well for the first tutorial i'm going to be teaching you guys how to make this on photoshop cc! though i'm sure it could probably be pretty easily adapted to other softwares.

and trust me, it's sooo much easier than it looks!
okay, so lets start!
step one, open a new document in photoshop (doesn't matter what size!)

step two, create a new layer and, using the lasso tool, draw a ruggedy shape like so;

and then fill it with your starting colour (you can use any colour combination);
