Inside and Outside [Part 8]

[Eunice's POV]

I've been on a Medical Leave for a week now. I never thought I would be heavily affected by those kids.
They were misundertood and they were still fragile.
They were weak but they try hard to act strong to survive this cruel world.

Well I guess that I am just like them... Misunderstood and belittle ...... and unappreciated.
I even never wanted to be a part of the police department......

I am driving now from my flat to the office.

I have to finish my case... My first big case.

I arrived to the office and parked my car. Shit... I still can't do it properly.

I went inside the office.
And walk through the hallway.

"Eunice? I thought you were in a leave?" Another officer said.

"Not anymore." I answered.

I didn't looked at him anymore and just walked fast.
I wanted to talk to Teri. My partner in this case.

I looked at my cubicle and my things are gone. Bullshit! Where the hell are my things?
I saw Teri working in her cubicle. I stood near her desk and looked at her.
She didn't even notice I am here! What a prick.

"Teri! Where the hell are my things?!" I asked Teri.

She was surprised when she saw me. Then she took a big breathe.

"Sorry Eunice .. but you're moving to a new office area." She looked at me briefly and started working again.

"Why the bloody hell am I moving?!?" I asked Teri angrily.

"You're out of the case. You're not my partner anymore." She said.

What??? But why?? Is she gonna take all the credits of this case?

"Why?? Are you taking all the credits for yourself?" I asked her while looking at her.
Then she looked at me and sighed.

"Uhm No! ....You're out of the case because you let your emotions affect the investigation.... You went to the kids without me or just even my permission!" She said.

"What emotions? I just wanted to help them.. For god sake! Teri! They were just scared! And misunderstood!" I shouted at Teri.

"Is this even about the case anymore?!" Teri said to me.

"Yes!" I answered.

"Isn't this about us, Eunice? ... The way you're acting.." She said in a disappointed manner.

"What?.... About us??? The thing about us is outside this work!" I shouted at her and turned my back.

I walk straight outside the door.
Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! FUCK!!!
Why did Teri have to remove me in this case?.. She didn't even told me!

I hate her! ...........

I guess this is also about us... I just can't believe what she did...

No matter what.. I'll still help the kids in this investigation.

I walked pass a compilation paper.. It suddenly took my attention.
I saw in the paper about the Clive Koch murder... I took it.. I know that I can use it.

I brought it with me until I got into my car.

I went inside my car and read the paper.

"What?" I was shocked when I read that Allysa is witnessing against James..

It doesn't sound right.... something fishy is happening inside the office...
I got to investigate about it..

"So where do I start?" I asked myself unconsciously.

And drove off the road.
