THE UNEXPECTED LOVE STORY

CHAPTER 1

"How was your boy toy yesterday?" My best friend Shanaya asked winking.

"Didn't work out," I replied rolling my eyes.

"But you said he's so sweet over text. What happened when you met him? Listen girl I get you're gorgeous but you can't get a guy better than that...He's cute...Smart..Tall...Has a good dressing sense...and replies you back immediately. It can't get better than that," my best friend rambled.

This bitch cannot let me be single. I get it, being single sometimes sucks...Like not being able to get cute messages...no gifts...no late night phone calls...it's just you and Netflix at night...But still if the guy is not right, why should I be with him? I know he's like the perfect guy for all of you but just not Mr. Right for me. I don't know why.

"And has a cute accent. The date didn't feel right and there was no connection between us," I replied to my super annoyed best friend.

Shanaya looked like she was about to slap the shit of me but the bitch loves me too much to do that. She just sighed and kept eating her food.

The bell rang and we went to our respective classes. After school, I went to Shanaya's home to hang out.

Let me tell you a bit about me. I'm an 17 year old way too skinny girl. I'm way too shy which explains why most of my friends are online. I go to a all girls' school so my experience with boys is basically zilch. My "boy toy" actually used to see me everyday on my bus stop waiting for my bus. He found me on social media and messaged me. We were talking for a week and he asked me out. I decided to agree because why not he's PERFECTION! When I met him, there was no connection between us so I decided to break it off.

"Did you just come to my house to stare at your phone screen?" Shanaya complained obviously annoyed.

"I'm sorry, Your Majesty. I was talking to this new friend you messaged me last week. He's interesting," I apologized.

"You got his pic? Is he hot?" 

"He's just a friend, Shanaya. Although I have a feeling he likes me..."

"I have five perfect ways on how to reject a guy politely. It's in my biology notebook. I'll show you in school."

"Do you even go to study at school? God! You're so boy obsessed!"

"I just don't wanna die single with 20 cats.."

Those who are wondering if Shanaya is single or not. She's actually 'confused' between three guys like she thinks all three are perfect for her. Trust me she's amazing but too boy obsesse. She can't go through an hour without mentioning a boy.

After five minutes of silence, Shanaya forced me to show the pic of the guy I'm talking to. I knew what her reaction would be like if she saw his pic. And it was exactly what I predicted it would be.

"Whatever just friend zone him."

This guy, Corey, is not what most girls would find attractive. I know everyone is beautiful but it's a universal fact. You just don't find some people attractive but what I like about him is he is superrr sweet like he's just not like other guys (If you get the reference of the song COMMENT). But he's just a friend. Meet the girl who only dates douche bags! 

After talking for a little while, we decided to do some homework. Yeah we actually did homework and not other things cause both of our parents will whoop our ass if we fail! It's not even child abuse. It's how brown kids are brought up.

I just decided to sleep in at Shanaya's house she's basically like my sister. I treat her house like mine. Sometimes Shanaya thinks her mom is ready to adopt me literally. We went off to bed immediately after finishing our homework.

The next day started with a good morning text from Corey (WE ARE JUST FRIENDS!!). My bestie although suspects this guy is a serial killer who will kill me once he meets me. That poor guy hasn't even suggested to meet me which is good because he ain't like all the other guys who beg you to meet them after an hour knowing them. I like to take it slow and his pace is perfect. My "boy toy" was the first date i went in and yeah I am 17 years old! Don't judge me...It's a personal choice.
