The first thing Arthur saw when he opened his eyes was a white mist surrounding him, and it stretched out as far as his eyes could see. He looked around, turning on the spot; he'd just been in his basement, so how did he get here? And where was here? He suddenly felt panic hit him, and his chest became heavy. He hadn't died, had he? He remembered passing out after loosing so much blood, but as he looked at his wrists, he couldn't see any cuts, so it was entirely possible that he'd died. He bit his lip until he could feel blood, anger rising in his chest. After all he'd been through to get here—to bring (F/N) back—he'd went and died. He really was pathetic...

Then he saw something along the horizon of white mist, and squinted to try to see what it was. It looked like a girl with (H/L) hair. She was walking towards him as far as he could tell, and as he thinned his eyes even more to better his vision, he realised just who it was. He had to rub his eyes over and over to make sure he wasn't wrong, but when he was sure, he took of running towards the person.

"(F/N)!" His voice cracked as he shouted her name, and he could already feel tears spilling down his face. As he got closer to her, he could see the pitiful expression she was wearing, along with a frown to match her sad eyes, but he tackled her in a hug before he could fully comprehend it. His arms tightly wrapped around her small frame, and he buried his face in the crook of her neck, crying. He wasn't even trying to stop the tears—it was (F/N), and she was here, right in front of him. The familiar scent of her (H/C) hair surrounded him, and the soft sensation of her skin against his only made him sob more.

"Arthur," she spoke, and Arthur froze up at the sound of her soft, gentle voice. It was just as he remembered, but he quickly became afraid that she was going to push him away and leave him again. Instead, she softly sighed, and wrapped her arms around him, stroking his messy blonde hair. "You're such an idiot," she said, allowing him to cry as much as he wanted.

All the emotions he'd held back, all the anger and insanity he'd felt over the past few weeks, everything, it all disappeared as (F/N) held him close to her. He felt like a small child being comforted by their mother, but he didn't care how he looked. The woman he loved was right in front of him, and that was all that mattered.

"I missed you so much..." He whispered, his voice hoarse from all his sobs, and (F/N) finally let go of him. He instantly missed the warmth of her arms around him, but sniffled and stood upright again. His eyes were red and puffy, his cheeks were wet with tears, and his head was beginning to hurt you too, but he forgot all his discomforts as he looked at (F/N)'s face again. Those beautiful (E/C) eyes that he loved so much were looking at him so sadly, yet so sternly, and was afraid of what she was going to say to him.

"I missed you too, but Arthur please," she bit her lip as of trying to hold in tears of her own, "stop what your doing. Stop trying to bring me back." Arthur looked at her in shock. What was she saying? After all he'd done to get to this point, after all the suffering he'd put himself through, she didn't even want to come back?

"What...?" He uttered, looking deep into her eyes, trying to decipher what she was thinking. "You don't want to come back and be with me?" Her eyes creased, and she frowned at him.

"As much as I want to stay with you, I can't, Arthur. I'm dead," She spoke bluntly, and Arthur clenched his fists tightly. No, she was wrong, because he'd bring her back. "You're still alive, there's still hope that you can continue on with your life."

"I don't want to continue on with my life if you're not in it!" He spat harshly. "My mind's already set, I'm bringing you back."

"No, Arthur, this won't work and you know it," she refuted back, and he furrowed his eyebrows angrily. Didn't she have faith in him? She knew as well as he did that he was great when it came to magic, and although he'd never known of a resurrection spell working before, he was sure he'd be able to do it. Why didn't she just agree with him?!

"It will work!" He yelled back aggressively, and (F/N) almost flinched at how mad he looked. She had to change his mind, and so she grabbed his hand, softly holding it in her own. His expression softened again, and he placed his other hand over her's. "I never got to tell you how much I loved you, or about all the things I still wanted to do with you..." The tears returned to his eyes as he once again spilt his feeling out to her, but it didn't take long for the determined look to return to his eyes, and he held her hands tighter. "That's why I have to bring you back."

"I... I love you too, Arthur, but this won't make me or you happy," she sighed wistfully, looked down at their intertwined hands. "Please, just stop this for me... Please..." There were tears in her eyes now, and any other time, Arthur would've done as she said if she looked at him as sadly as she did now, but the anger building up in his chest overwhelmed him, and he grabbed her by the shoulders roughly.

"Everything, all of the things I've done so far, I've done for you!" He shouted, his blazing green eyes meeting her melancholic (E/C) orbs as his grip on her shoulders tightened. It hurt, but she ignored it. "Now you tell me to just throw it all away?! You'll see... I'll bring you back, and then we can finally be happy." He gritted his teeth, his eyes seething with anger, but (F/N) could still the sadness and the tears behind them. She knew she could still try to convince him—he was still there, the Arthur that she'd always known. But he suddenly, let go of her, looking at his own hands in confusion as they began to turn transparent.

"You're waking up," (F/N) muttered, and Arthur looked at her in confusion. "Alfred took you to the hospital, and now your consciousness is beginning to return," she explained, and Arthur looked at her with fear.

"No, not yet..." He muttered, watching his hands continue to fade. He grabbed onto (F/N) again, hugging her with all the strength he could. "I don't want to leave yet! Please (F/N)!" He cried like a child, and (F/N) could do nothing to comfort him as his body began to dissolve, feet first. The bright light reached his legs, and he held her tighter. She hugged him back before it could reach his waist, but as it continued to crawl its way up, the more the fear increased in Arthur's heart. He didn't want to leave her, now yet—he just wanted a little bit more time with her. The light reached his arms, and he could no longer feel them around her anymore. Finally it surrounded his whole vision, and everything remained white for a few seconds.

He woke up. There were tears in his eyes, and his head lay flat on a pillow below him. His heart was beating fast, and he could hear a heart monitor beeping away in the room, but it gradually slowed back down to its original pace again as he breathed in and out. Everything around him was white, and just like (F/N) had said to him, he was in a hospital. His heart felt like it had been torn into thousands of pieces.

He couldn't feel her arms around him anymore, and he couldn't see her face or hear her beautiful voice any more. All he could hear was beeping, and the faint chatter of doctors and nurses as they passed by. He wanted her back, he wanted to feel all those thrilling feelings again. She'd told him not too, but she looked so sad. Surely, she wanted to be with him as much as he wanted to be with her, right? She was just pretending, right? His body still felt to weak to sit up, but thoughts whizzed through his mind faster than he could process them.

She was just lying wasn't she? She wanted him as much as he wanted her, and he'd do anything to feel the warmth of her embrace again, no matter what she said. He needed to see her again. He closed his eyes, blinking a few times before opening them again, his mind set. He was going to bring her back, but first, he'd have to escape.

Yet another book that desperately needed updating! I'm kind of hinting that Arthur has kind of lost it already in this chapter, and there are a lot of screws loose in his poor brain. It was sad to write this because I love my poor country so much, and he just cries so much in this chapter ; w ;  Arthur has kind of turned yandere
I'm still deciding which ending I want to go for, but for now, I hope you enjoyed some sadness!
