The sound of feet was easily heard in the seemingly empty hallway. Laughter followed shortly after as a cold breeze rushed through the hallway as the door opened allowing snow to drift in like delicate flowers in the water. The snow melted before it touched the ground. Winter vacation had finally started leaving the school barren. There would not be a soul remaining to this lonely campus as winter encased the world in white and quickly buried the stains from a student. She clings to her lover a smile on her face as she kisses him. He doesn't return it and instead just stares at her. "I love you." She whispers as she crawls out of the car wreckage. She smiles at him as she lays down in the bed of snow. He watches her, eyes unmoving as they watch her, no compassion as the snow piles on top of her and she whispers loving words to him. He offers no reply as the cold wind freezes her when her final words escape "I always loved you." Her hand lets go of the picture of her deployed husband. No one will find this car wreck until spring, it's winter break, the hallways are empty. Silent except for the howling of the wind and the echo of the deceased woman's words.
