Small drops of water made a soft melody on your window. You observed them hitting the glass, dripping down and being followed by hundreds - no, thousands of others that walked into the footsteps of the ones that came before them. Behind those little droplets it was pitch black. If you squinted your eyes you could make out the shape of the pine trees that stood beside the house, but it was almost impossible.

Besides your bed a tiny flame was burning, gifting you the smallest amount of light. It illuminated on your face and casted a red glow over its' surroundings. A while ago, it couldn't have been more than half an hour, Sebastian was sitting next to you on the bed. He had changed the bandages and told you not to move too much. He hadn't been with you for long, just enough time to help you clean up a bit.

Sebastian seemed more distant than he was before. You wanted to know his reasons for his behaviour, but you wouldn't ask him even if you had to.
The others seemed a bit distant too. Perhaps it had finally sinken in that you were their assassin, their assassin that wasn't able to assassinate them properly.
You felt lonely, but there wasn't anything that you could do about it. Asking for attention would take a big bite of your pride. Your pride was already under attacking by letting them take care of you. You missed your old life with Alden and Daichi. It wasn't perfect, but it was less lonely than your current situation.

You bit your lip as you felt tears welling up in your eyes. You didn't even know why you were crying, you just strongly felt the need to. Maybe it was because of Daichi, because of current situation or maybe even because of Alden.

The first tear that rolled down your cheek got quickly wiped off by the back of your hand, but the ones that followed got ignored. They dripped down your chin and onto your neck. In the room it was entirely silent, only the wind made its' existence known once in a while by blowing the branches of the trees next to your room against your window, creating soft scratching noises.

After a while the tears slowed down and instead of waterfalls they turned into a soft drizzle. You closed your eyes, moving your attention to your breathing. After a while it slowed down, together with you heart. You fell asleep.

-

It had been a long time since Sebastian had enjoyed taking a bath. Somehow this night it felt better than all the nights before. Only his shoulders and head stuck out of the water. The warm water was soothing to him, relaxing every little muscle in his body.

Sebastian closed his red eyes and breathed in the warm steam. He hummed an unknown melody, letting the vibrations of his sound echo against the bathroom walls. He thought about nothing in particular while all kinds of thoughts shot through his mind.

Then he stood up. Water dripped down his toned body and made soft noices when the small drops hit the water at his knees. He brushed his hair back with his finger, a few strands escaping his fingers.

Sebastian stepped out of the bath and wrapped a towel around his hips. He glanced into the mirror in the bathroom and looked at himself. His body was appealing, even Sebastian himself had to admit that. For a few seconds his eyes were locked on the mirror, just looking at himself. After a few seconds he ripped his gace from the mirror and made his way out of the bathroom.

Putting on his tailcoat seemed a bit too much for helping his young master to his bed. Sebastian decided to put on his pants, but switch the coat for a white shirt. Within seconds he was dressed and had picked up the candle on the nightstand.

He strode through the long hallway to the library where he knew his young master would be as suddenly a voice behind him made him stop in his tracks.
"Michaelis, something is wrong. I can sense it." Sebastian looked over his shoulder to spot Claude Faustus standing a few feet away from him.

"Wrong?" He asked in his posh accent. "I can't say that I noticed anything out of the ordinary, so do you mind to explain what you mean with wrong?"

Claude shook his head. "I don't know for certain, but I know something doesn't feel right."

Sebastian had to hold back his laughter. Since when was Claude so sensitive?

"I'll tell you if I notice something, but right now I don't have anything to tell you about." Claude glared at him, an annoyed look covered his handsome face.

"Very well. I'll check on Lady [Y/N] since you can't seem to be bothered to do that anymore lately." With that he turned around, dissapearing in less than a second.

Sorry for this bad chapter. I don't have a lot of inspiration lately, but I'll make sure to make the next chapter something more enjoyable to read.

Lots of love, the author.
