Chapter 4

[Sly's POV]

 

Climbing into the driver's side of the car, I looked over at Aleks, who was already in his seat. A look of concern washed over his features. 

"Babe what's wrong?" I ask grabbing his hand in mine.

 He looks up at me, a little smirk forming on his lips. All traces of concern instantly wiped from his face.

 "Babe? That's the first time I've heard you say that." He says, a full blown smile crossing his face. I smile back and take his hand, kissing it lightly. I slowly move up his arm, feeling him shiver in pleasure. I smile against the skin. He pulls away quickly. "Eddie! Not till we get back home!" I giggle at his argument and then proceeded to pull out of the parking lot 

  After a few minutes of driving, I felt Aleks grab my hand and intertwine his fingers with mine. Our hands fit well together, his slender and long, mine a little more manly. I looked over at him, a slight smile forming on my lips. He is just so cute. He looked out the window with his chin rested on his hand. It may have been a bit of an awkward angle for me, considering I have to stretch my arm out and twist it slightly, all the while trying to drive. But I don’t say anything. I look over back at the road (realizing not for the first time how dangerous it is to drive with Aleks in the car) to see dark clouds forming up ahead. 

 "Hey was there supposed to be a storm?" I ask, wiggling my arm to catch his attention. Aleks moves his stare from outside the window to my face.

 "Uh… I don't think so? Here, I'll check my phone." He lets go of my hand and I instantly regret asking, my hand missing his warmth. He pulls out his iPhone and unlocks it. "Uh Eddie…" He starts, looking over at me with concern "there's a tornado warning."

 “How? The weather was just cold, but with no signs of clouds in the sky! God damn Colorado and its unruly weather! Let's hurry home to Chefy.” I tell him “And I don't want you driving all the way to your house until storm is over with." I peek over to him, seeing him shit in his seat.

 

 The ride home was terrifying as we had to dodge hail and heavy rain. The entire time, I couldn’t help but curse Colorado. God damn it, now I have golf ball sized dents in my car.

Once at my apartment complex, I quickly get out of the car and round the car to help Aleks out. Grabbing Aleks’ hand, I walked him inside up to the apartment. 

As we entered the house, I immediately run to find Chefy. I find her hiding under my bed, her usual place to hide during storms. I pulled her out and headed to the bathtub leaving her in there. She was hesitant at first, the bathroom a natural enemy to her, but she eventually gives up and lays down on the cold bathtub floor. I go back into the living room to see Aleks looking out the window.

"Aleks, get away from the window! Have you never been in a tornado before? The window is the last thing you want to be around.” I say to him, pulling him away and enveloping him in my arms. What an idiot. At least he’s my idiot. 

“No, I’ve never been in a tornado.” He says, sounding kind of scared.

 I look down at him, my face soft. “Oh. Sorry. Well you never want to be near a window.” I tell him, walking him over to the couch. “Are you cold? Do you want to use a sweater of mine? Your coat is too heavy." I state, seeing Aleks starting to get goose bumps his teeth chatter. 

 "Yes please." He says rubbing his arms. I head to my room and grab two oversized sweaters. I also stop to grab some water from the fridge in the kitchen.

"Here. Okay, so obviously I don’t have a basement. I mean, I’m sure the apartment building has some sort of lock down area thing, but I don’t really want to be around those people. So we will just… sit in the bath tub. How does that sound?” I ask, getting a nod of the head from him. The storm sound pretty bad from inside, and I can’t help but feel a little scared myself. All I need is Aleks and I feel okay. Grabbing his hand, I lead him to the bathroom, where he sat in the bathtub with Chefy. I got in next to him, pulling him into my arms.
