Lainey had fallen into a routine lately, over the past few weeks they had gone to the coffee shop, went home, taken their medicine, made videos, spent time with their new girlfriend and Greg then went to bed. It was a routine their doctor recommended to help reduce the anxiety attacks along with taking a new marketed medicine. It was said to have had less side effects than that of any other anti-anxiety medication. Plus, it was cheaper than most since it was just recently released. The only bad side Lainey had noticed was they would space out for long periods of time and could get some headaches. Thankfully the headache could be resolved with over the counter medications.
"Lainey!" Lainey jumped slightly hearing someone shout their name. This wasn't unusual now fans spotting them from a mile away with their newly died blue hair. They always seem to run into fans ever since they hit a million subscribers. It was a something Lainey had never dreamed of happening to them but here they were. They were at a local coffee spot they always went to get some coffee before heading out to get supplies for different videos. When Lainey turned, they saw a girl standing before them.
"Can I get a picture with you?" The girl smiled, her long pink hair blowing around a bit as the wind picked up. She had a black leather jacket with a Avenged Sevenfold band tee underneath with black skinny jeans."Uhm sure." Lainey smiled then took a quick selfie with the girl. The girl the expressed how much she loved Lainey's videos and would love to snapchat here sometime. Lainey nodded saying that she could shoot her a message over twitter and they could talk there too. The girl nodded then quickly rushed off just as fast as she came over. That was a little odd but Lainey didn't put too much stock into it as they grabbed their coffee and headed back towards home.
It was mid-May now and spring was taking over Washington, the flowers were blooming and the trees had just filled with their leaves. The air was warm but the wind made it cool enough Lainey wore a light jacket. On the walk home Lainey sipped their coffee checking their phone as they walked. Tweets coming in about when the new video was coming up and when would everyone see the new girlfriend Lainey was dating. Lainey responded to patrons and friends as they made their way towards their street but something felt off, this made Lainey put their phone in their pocket and look around seeing a grey van parked a few feet back from them. When did that get there? They made this walk almost every day and never once did Lainey see this van before.
Lainey quickened the pace and nearly ran to their door almost knocking Greg over as they made their way inside. Greg looked a little irritated he almost dropped his camera but the irritation went away quickly as he saw Lainey's distress.
"Hey you okay?" He asked pausing the camera and following Lainey to the kitchen. Lainey nodded after catching their breath.
"Yeah uh.. just got a little out of my head." Lainey said forcing a smile. They figured that they were just over reacting and needed to calm down. Lainey took another big sip of coffee before finally noticing the dogs were barking their heads off. The sounds were attacking Lainey's ears at this point causing Lainey to snap at the dogs more harshly then they meant.
"Dobbs! Leelu! SHUT UP!" When the dogs stopped barking, Lainey sighed and rubbed their head, Greg walked over and looked at Lainey."Anxiety again?" Greg said careful not to get too close to Lainey in case it was a bad attack. Their sensory overload was kicking and it made Lainey feel overwhelmed. Lainey took a few deep breaths and finally looked at Greg.
"I'm fine.. I'm fine. I just need to lay off the coffee I guess." Lainey finished off the coffee before throwing away the cup. Lainey then grabbed their medicine from the cabinet taking two out of the bottle then taking them with some water. Greg shrugged and watched Lainey for a long moment.
"Well.. if you need me I'm right upstairs." He carefully walked over and kissed Lainey's head before making his way out of the kitchen. Lainey shook their head again trying to regain their thought train of what all needed to be done today. Lainey checked their phone again seeing Harley had texted them. Lainey replied to Harley saying that if she still wanted to do a video about the two of them today she could. Lainey then walked over to the front room and looked out the window seeing the grey van was gone.
"See. It was nothing. You're over reacting again." Lainey thought to themselves before going and getting ready.
