It's when you start doing things since others won't.
You start smiling by yourself because some people can't see the beauty that you see.
You start being kinder to people because you know there's good in every corner.
It's when you start helping them first because you know how it feels not to get that same help.
It's when you start laughing at yourself because you know they can't handle when you're not.
You start trying to fake your smiles so they don't see the buckets of tears you've cried till that point.
It's more of a choice than a compromise. To be someone who seems low key, to be someone low maintenance, to be someone like me. It's harder to breath, harder to see, harder to wake up but then again I wanted this.
Or am I just telling myself that to feel less pitiful?
