On the road so far....saving people....hunting things....the family business. Two brothers on the road hunting monsters and saving people's lives ever since their father was consumed with guilt and revenge seeking after a demon killed their mother in September of 1983 when Jon was four and Nick was only six months old. Twenty-two years later after their father was killed by the same monster as their mother, they have continued to hunt and save.

After solving a case, Nick and Jon decided to go to the bar that was a couple blocks from their motel. Both feeling very guilty about not being able to save some of the people that were being haunted and dealing with it in different ways,Jon goes off and does his own thing(he's a little better at dealing with the guilt), while Nick, on the other hand, not so much. Trying to feel a little bit better Nick has a few too many to drink and unintentionally gets drunk, and like almost all people, Nick wasn't thinking clearly and decided to play a game of pool. No harm in playing pool, except when it comes to betting more money than you have; especially when you're playing with a gang that takes things like that very seriously. Luckily, Jon shows up and sees what is going on and like a big brother should, he tried to help out Nick. After telling them that they don't have the money, the gang takes Nick and Jon outback to "straighten them out" so they can get their money. What they didn't know, was how good at fighting .... and Jon were . For a minute the boys are doing good, but one person that they thought were knocked out, came up behind same and stabbed him and the blade of his knife cut clean through Nick's spinal cord. And the last thing Nick Sees before he blacks out and dies is his brother Jon running toward him yelling his name.

After Jon takes Nick to the abandoned house that is secluded away from pretty much everything, Jon leaves Nick on the old musty couch that was in the house, and after a few drinks and thinking a lot he knew what he had to do. A day or two later, Jon makes a choice to save his brother. Jon decides to go to a crossroad to summon a demon to make a deal to bring Nick back. Over the next few moments, Jon grows more upset, thinking he cannot make a deal because no one showed up. As he was just about to leave, she shows up. After arguing about how long Jon has with his brother they finally agree on one year, and one year only.

You see the way these kinds of deals work is, you go to a crossroad and in the center you dig a hole and after putting a picture of you and a few other items in a small box you bury it and a demon shows up. Once a crossroads demon shows up, you say what you want to make a deal for and they give you a certain amount of time and you seal it with a kiss, but there is one other thing, in order to make a deal you have to be willing to sell your soul, and when you sell your soul you automatically go to hell once your deal is up. However long you agree on is how long you agreed on is how long you have with whatever it is you asked for, for example: if you asked to be with the love of your life for ten years, you have ten years with that person and when your time is up either a demon or a hellhound come to collect your soul.

Shortly after making the deal, Jon had come back to the house where he left Nick, the only thing left that he could do was wait, so he waited. After several hours of waiting, Nick finally woke up. The next day the jon and Nick drove the impala to their father figure, Josh's house. Not expecting Nick, Josh opens the door thinking it's only going to be Jon there, but he saw Nick, he already knew exactly what Jon had done. After being there for a while researching, Josh asked Jon to come out to help him bring some stuff inside. They finally have a moment alone, and Josh takes the opportunity to talk to Jon about what he did. After telling Josh he only had one year, out of anger Josh grabbed Jon by the collar of his shirt and slammed him against the car that was behind him. Fighting back tears of the thought of losing his brother, he only says "he's my brother, I couldn't just let him die, Josh".

Trying to distract himself as well as not let Nick know what has happened, Jon, and Nick go out for a drink. At the bar Jon saw the same guy that killed Nick and tries to get him to leave and go back to Josh's house but he had already seen Nick and started to walk over to where they were. The guy was very confused as to how Nick was alive and asked how was he there. Not quite sure what the guy is talking about he tells the guy he need to work on his aim, but the guy then says "I don't know how you are here, I cut clean through your spinal cord, you should be dead". Nick then looks at Jon to ask if he is telling the truth, but before he got the chance to say anything he saw the expression on Jon's face and no longer needed to ask because he already knew.

Out of anger, Nick says nothing to Jon, so the car ride back to Josh's house there was no arguing only awkward silent. Back at the house Nick still isn't talking and goes straight to the living room. Josh, as curious as he was to know what was going on he doesn't ask him, instead he asks Jon. The next day, still angry about the fact Jon sold his soul and is going to hell, Nick wants to know how long Jon has and asks if there is anyway out of it and Jon tells him that the demon who made his deal said if they tried to get out of the deal in anyway, the deal was off and Nick would drop dead. Jon makes Nick agree that he won't try anything and angrily, Nick agrees already having a plan in mind to try and get him out of his deal.

Later that night while Jon was sleeping, Nick sneaks out and takes The Colt out of the hidden compartment they built into the trunk of the impala and heads for a crossroad. Once he's there he summons a demon the same way Jon did and tries to talk the demon into letting Jon out of his deal. He tries to talk the demon into trading places with Jon, but the demon just laughed and told him he's not as valuable as Jon, and they have everything arranged the way they want. Before Nick kills the demon, trying to save itself from dying, the demon tells Nick the name of the demon who holds Jon's deal hoping Nick wouldn't kill them but out of anger he kills the demon anyway. The next day in the car Jon asks why a a bullet was missing from the colt, and Nick tries to play it off as if he didn't know what he was talking about for a few minutes then he finally tells him what happened the night before. During the argument Jon reminds Nick that if they try anything to get him out of his deal Nick would die and the deal would be off, but then Nick tells him that the demon he killed told him that if they killed the demon that holds his deal then he would be out of it. So they then decided to track down Lilith the demon that holds his deal.

Jon's year was almost over, and Nick was starting to get worried. But then, one night when Nick and Jon were out at a bar, one of Nick's old friends, Maria who Jon doesn't like because she is a demon shows up at the bar with a lead on Lilith. Since Jon doesn't like Maria, he just ignores everything she has to say, but luckily, Nick listens to what she tells him about Lilith. Later that night at the motel Nick tells Jon that Maria told him that Lilith is in a small town in Ohio, and it would only take a few hours to get there. The next day, Nick and Jon went to Josh's because they knew they were going to need his help getting into the house Lilith is staying at.

After a night of watching the house from a safe distance, Nick and Jon discover that Lilith is possessing a little boy and holding his family as hostage, and has demons surrounding the house. While sneaking into the house the next night(Jon's last night before his time was up), Josh goes around the side of the house and taps into the sewer line and says some chant turning the water into holy water which burns if it touches a demon. Afterwards he turns on the sprinklers so that the demons watching the house from the outside can't get in. Once inside, Jon and Nick go and find the little girl Lilith was possessing but she has already left his body and they're back at square one.

Unable to get into the house the same way the boys did, Josh has no choice really but to sit in the car and wait. While trying to figure out exactly what it is they should do now, Nick and Jon are caught off guard when who they think is Maria shows up little did they know that was no longer Maria. After noticing a few subtle hint she gave them, they then notice that Lilith is possessing the body that Maria was. After realising they are unable to beat Lilith, the boys then exchanged longing looks because they know what was about to happen.

Surprisingly Lilith did not kill the boys, instead she waited till midnight so that Nick would have to watch his brother be killed .Once the clock struck midnight, Jon and Nick could hear the hellhounds coming, and with Lilith holding Nick against the wall he could not help his brother. Since hellhounds are only visible to demons and the person who they are after Nick couldn't see it, all he could see was cuts and rips appearing on Jon's skin and him bleeding out. After Jon was dead, Lilith tried killing Nick with her demonic powers, but for some reason they didn't seem to affect him, so in fear Lilith fled and Nick didn't see her again.

Normally when a hunter dies other hunters salt and burn their body, but Nick refused, he told Josh that he would need a body when he got him back. Four months later Nick still hadn't found a way to bring his brother and Josh finally got Nick to listen to him. Nick finally gave up on trying to bring Jon back. Nick still hunts monsters, saves people, and drives the impala, because it's the only he has left of his brother. Years after Jon died, Nick was driving in their hometown, Lawrence, Kansas, and got in a very bad car accident, and was in a coma. After a few months the doctors lost hope in him waking up and turned off the machines that were keeping him alive. Finally both of the Winchester brothers were at peace. Even though many other hunters only think that the Winchesters are a myth or a legend, some hunters believe and continue to remember who the Winchesters were, and always will.
