The drive to the restaurant was a long one. The girl came for one thing and one thing only; the trout cauliflower dish that she adores. She'd give up anything for that dish, even another's life. She destroy anything and everything that stood in the way of her and her only escape to a beautiful future.
When she entered the restaurant she was seated in the far back; one table from the kitchen. She was facing the exit, her back towards the kitchen. The waitress gave her the white menu, not knowing her action would ruin the girls plans for that day.
When she was told that the trout dish was taken off the menu, she couldn't help the flash of emotions she felt. Anger first, she was angry with whoever was stupid enough to make this decision without her approval. Next sadness, her eyes tearing up just at the thought of leaving without what she came for. Last bloodlust; she wanted to ruin the lives of whoever decided to demolish her chances of happiness.
She knew that she would give away her plans for revenge had she reacted the way her heart desired, so she just calmly told the waitress that it was fine and she would have the Hawaiian tuna dish.
"Will that be all?" the lady asked, not looking the girl in the eye.
'Good,' the girl thought to herself. 'Be ashamed. You ruined my day.' But her only answer was a curt 'yes.'
She waited there for what felt like hours, thinking of the terrible review she would soon leave on Yelp. The girls mother seemed fine with the lack of food coming their way, attempting at a conversation which the girl quickly shut down. After the fourth conversation was turned down, the mother decided to make a business phone call, ignoring her daughter completely until the food was delivered to the table.
The girls face showed a mix of disinterest and disgust, shocked to see how her dish was served. On one single side of the long, rectangular plate there was a clump of fish and avocado, the left side holding some sort of chips that she doubted she would like. She slowly brought the fork that was now filled with the tuna, a look of distaste masking her face.
She couldn't help the moan that escaped her mouth. The cold meal somehow warmed her frozen heart, allowing the girl to be whole again. She had never eaten something that filled her with this much love. She now knew that she would not only kill for this dish, but die for it too.
She now knew what true love felt like.
Okay, so I may have written this while in the car on my phone and it may be incredibly sucky. Plus I'm weirdly dramatic when it comes to food, so....
