After the chaotic events of Elsa's coronation, Kristoff and Anna officially became a couple. Their relationship continued for a few years before they were married, and Kristoff became a prince. It was at this point that Elsa allowed Kristoff to move into the castle.

Originally, the plan was for him to just move into Anna's bedroom with her. However, mere days before he was scheduled to move in, Anna chickened out. The idea of her husband moving into her childhood bedroom didn't feel right, so she had a whole new bedroom prepared for them. She figured that her old bedroom could one day be used by children of their own.

The big day came, and Kristoff showed up at the castle gates with Sven, who was pulling his sled. Inside the sled were all of his clothes and possessions. He had practically nothing while living with the trolls, but after meeting Anna, he had acquired a few things here and there. Anna ran outside to greet him, followed by a handful of the castle's staff, who anticipated bringing all of Kristoff's belongings inside for him.

As the staff approached them, the newlyweds refused their assistance. Kristoff was still not accustomed to people doing things for him, and Anna wanted to make sure that everything was done to their liking.

After many long hours of getting their new room situated, the pair was exhausted. They opted to go straight to sleep, and they climbed into their new bed together. Almost instantly, Kristoff was asleep. As he snored quietly, Anna say next to him, reading a book.

They had continued on like this for roughly half an hour, when Kristoff suddenly shot up with a yelp.

Anna gasped in surprise, dropping her book. It slid off the bed and onto the floor, but she ignored it and turned toward Kristoff. She noticed that he was sweating, shaking, and breathing heavily. She had never seen him look so small, so vulnerable.

"Kristoff?" she said quietly, placing her hand lightly on his thigh. When he did not reply, she spoke again. "Kristoff, are you okay?" she asked. He pulled on Anna's arm, forcing her to move closer to him. Still, he kept his gaze facing forward, almost as if he was in a trance.

"Are you okay?" she repeated. Kristoff took a deep, shaky breath, and answered with a simple nod of his head.

"What happened? Was it a nightmare?" she questioned him further. Again, he nodded.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

He took another deep breath and began to speak."My parents" he choked out, no louder than a whisper.

"What?"

"The night that they..." he began to reply, even quieter this time. He closed his eyes, and a tear rolled slowly down his cheek. Anna bought her hand to his face and gently wiped it away. In all the years they had been together, she had never seen Kristoff cry. Even when he first told her about his parents, he kept it brief and vague, showing very little emotion.

"Do you get them often?" she asked. For the third time that night, all he did was nod his head.

"I'm sorry" Anna whispered, holding onto his large body as tightly as she could.

"No, I am" he said, wiping the tears from his face.

"For what?"

"This. Making a fool of myself on our first night together." Kristoff pulled away from her slightly, ashamed to be touching her. However, the edge of he bed prevented him from going too far.

"No no no, you didn't" Anna reassured him, moving closer.

"Everyone's a bit of a fixer upper. Isn't that what it's all about?"

Kristoff looked down at her, finally making eye contact. He smiled weakly at her, and she kissed his cheek. They both laid back down on the bed, facing each other, and it was not long before they were asleep. Anna held Kristoff's large hand in hers, protecting him from further nightmares.
