"Seriously? Then how are you going to return that?" Adrielle, my friend, replied as I told her what happened in the coffee shop lately.
"I don't know, either. Maybe I'll go there in the Isles Company and let her secretary get this. But, Urgh. Tell me, Adi. what should I do?" I beg her. I don't want to bother them anymore. The first and the last time we encountered was a total mess for me. And I'm the one who messed it.
"I know a friend. He's working there. Maybe he can help you though I'm not sure if he's not busy today. Til when's the deadline of that?" she asked.
"Tomorrow." I said as I looked down and bit my lower lip.
"WHAT?! Wait a minute. I'll contact Vlaire." she responded as she get her phone and dialled a number. Please Vlaire, I badly need your help.
Adrielle gave me a thumbs up which made me jump in surprise. I breathe heavily and proceed to the counter and fix my things. I asked the manager if I can go home early and she let me, just for today.
I went to the Isles Company where Vlaire will be waiting. It took me 20 mins before I reached the place. As I walk on the pavement, I saw a man. He's wearing earphones and he's wearing a nice suit. He has a nice posture and he's handsome, srsly. Is this Vlaire?
"Excuse me?" I told him as he stared at me and removed his earphones. He fix his Messy hair and use his handkerchief to wipe his sweat.
"Avry? Is that you?" he asked me. His voice is deep, and I can smell his perfume. I never thought that he's just an employee here.
"Hmm yes. And you're Vlaire, right?" I asked him and he nodded.
"Where's the paper?" he said. I get the paper inside my bag and lend it to him. He smiled as he saw it.
"So let's go now. Liershan is waiting for you." he said as he smirked at me. Wait, did I hear it right? Why is he waiting for me? I did not set any appointment with him. All I know is that I'll let his employee bring this paper to him. But how did this happen?! Adrielle. Adrielle. Adrielle.
"Hey, are you okay?" he worriedly asked me.
"I'm just..shocked. I thought you're the one who will send this to him, not me." I said. Well that's the truth. And I won't dare to do that. I don't want to see his face again, either.
"Adrielle didn't tell you? I texted her lately. That's impossible!" he said as I rapidly checked my phone and saw a new message from Adrielle. 3 mins ago.
Adrielle: Avry, Idk how to say this but Vlaire texted me that Liershan wants to see you. I'm sorry. I know you can do it. Text me if you need help. Luvya 😗
My heart pounded faster as I over think on what will happen later. Vlaire told me to just follow him 'til we reach Liershan's office. On our way, I saw different faces. Others look so familiar but I don't have any idea where I met them before. I just focus on where we are going.
Liershan's office is on the 35th floor. The place is too peaceful. The whole city can be seen from here. It's already 5PM and the sunset is showing. I really love how the sun shines. It gives me this relaxing feels. Mom, Dad and I used to watch how the sun sets and rises before. We also took some pictures of it. But Dad broke his promise to Mom. He said that when they reach the age of 70, they'll go there, up on the terrace of our house to have a final look on the sunset. Just the two of them while playing their favourite song. Life's unfair, tho. Life left my dad which made my dad left my mom. I miss him.
Going back where we are right now, Vlaire told me to relax. "You look so pale.. Are you nervous?" I nodded. "Calm down, he's an innocent beast. I promise." he said.
An Innocent beast? So his heart is still reigned with kindness. I hope, so. With his looks, I can say that he's a beast, a handsome beast. Lol just kidding.
As I enter his office, all I can feel was shame. My feet wants to go out and run away from this place but my conscience is bothering me. This paper is very important. Their company might be at risk if I won't return this.
"Liershan, she's here." Vlaire shouted which broke the silence that fills the room's atmosphere.
"Where's the paper?" he said as he went out of the comfort room. Holy damn, this is not right. I must not be here. My eyes. No, no, no.
"Lady, stop staring. I didn't let you come here just to enjoy my view." An actual fvk? You must be too high, man. Don't assume that much.
"HAHA! She's cute, though." Vlaire said as he messed my hair. Are we close enough for you to do that?
"If you two's gonna flirt each other, well, such a wrong place. Give me the paper before I lose my temper. Damn, you're wasting my time! " he said as he sit down on his swivel chair and gave us a death glare.
