OK, so I go to a charter school and if you dont know what that is, it's part normal school and part homeschool. Most of the classes are very small.
I run into comments like: "Homeschool: teaches you how to think and how to learn. Public school: teaches you what to think and want to learn.
And like?? Do public school kids think we do nothing and " learn from real life " ? We read chapters and answer questions all day? You at least get variety in your work and get to socialize.
By the way, the normal school part is hardly socializing or variety, we go to a small room with like 8 other kids and read and fill out papers but, we read together and it takes forever.
Also people say "I wish I went to your school" and "wow that sounds easy" when I talk about what I'm learning and I'm just now realizing my school is behind what kids my age usually learn? What the fuck?
We also do work for like 6 hours straight with no breaks and no talking? Is that fucking normal? I think not.
Long story short, charter school suck and I'm glad I'm leaving next year.
