The sheets underneath lance's almost dormant body shifted. It was still relatively early in the morning. Since he fell asleep so early, we woke up early, pretty simple. He turned over again his body ached pretty much all over. His eyelids were as heavy as led, but he managed to pry them open. God, it had been forever since he had a good sleep like that. He willed his body to a sitting position.

He just stared at his room for a while, until he realised, this wasn't his room. Crap. And then yesterday's events came pouring in, drowning and suffocating lance in memories he'd much rather forget. Something caught his eye, sitting on his-...Keith's beside table, was lance's treasured rock, and a small note beside it. He carefully opened the note, and shoved the rock into his pocket.

Hey lance, Pidge here,

I came in after you fell asleep (that doesn't sounds creepy at all.) I couldn't help but notice, you were like this the same day last year, I'll regret saying this but...I was worried. So, talk to me if you need it. DON'T YOU DARE TELL THE OTHERS!!

-Sincerely me

Damn Pidge and her stupid musical references. But, she was probably right. Maybe he should tell her? They've also been pretty close...but...he didn't want to put all that on her. She had another going on. She had finally found her brother...and lance couldn't mess that up. He finally decided to get up. Maybe he would train? Or try to get some stargazing in. Yeah. That sounded nice.

He cautiously made his way out to the observation deck, and breathed in the cool air. With that, relaxation washed over his body and he laid down. Just staring out at the vastly unknown. Smiling, and feeling, so at peace.

But of course, in real life there is no perfection, and how stupid lance was, thinking that he could catch a break. While some may have pure intentions, they tend to have lethal consequences. Fun, right?

He didn't know how long he stayed there for, just drifting off with the stars. Though it must've been a while. Soon the paladins started flooding the area, lance was shocked to see them all, but he plastered on a smile nonetheless. "Good morning guys" lance started as he jumped off the floor. "What's up?" He barely finished his sentence before he was bombarded with questions and people. And this day just keeps getting better. He managed to distract their attention away from him and onto breakfast, he hadn't eaten anything since yesterday's lunch. God he was hungry.

He managed to shovel some food in his gob, and for once, food goo didn't taste that bad. It was a miracle in itself. Pidge was unusually happy and she looked heavily sleep deprived. At least the last part was normal. Half way through breakfast it got a bit too creepy and lance couldn't deal with it anymore. "Alright Pidge, what the hell are you so smiley about?"

"I'm glad you asked" the gremlin replied. "Last night I stayed up working on a surprise for you." It was truly terrifying how much she was smiling. "Why do I feel like I'm about to be a fast subject again??"
"Oh come on, it's not that bad, I'm sure you'll love it" The smile was leaking but into her words. God, it was scary. He sighed "fine, what is it?"

Pidge made a strange sort of squeak noice, before running off into her room. And then lance was left, terrified and dumbfounded. What a beautiful combination. Lance and the others were just finishing up breakfast by the time the gremlin came back and started setting up Her equipment. She had her laptop, a speaker? And a few other various little science looking things. "Ok now, sit down in front of it and close your eyes tightly" Pidge directed, and with her minimal hours of sleep and obvious work she put into this, it was extremely wise to obey her.

So here lance sat, in front of pidge's computer, eyes screwed shut. He didn't dare look. There was only a few things he could tell before his eyes opened. One, was that Pidge had put a lot of work into this for him and he should respect that no matter what it is. Two, was that all eyes in the room were on him, so that was a great big sign telling him to not fuck this up. And three, oh god number three, lance always thought of it as a lucky number. Well not anymore. As the shrill shriek of the woman's voice pierced his ears and made his whole body jolt and tremble, he didn't need to see her to know who this woman was. He tried his best to look as presentable as he could as his eyelids slowly fluttered open and he stared daggers into the woman that had wounded him so badly.

"Good morning, mother"

{A/N- WOOOOO. I know that was really short and probably terrible but it's the second day of school, I'm tired and it's my birthday. WOOOOOO. Happy birthday to me indeed. Thanks for reading, I know this is kinda like a filler but I don't exactly know how to write the other and I literally left this until the very last minutes. Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed whatever this was.}
