When James opened the door, silence flooded the room. Everyone watched as he took long strides, almost appearing to be floating, towards the desk on the other side of the room. As he set the book down, ringing began filling Jordan’s ears, blocking out all noises. Then a searing pain started in his leg, then moved to his calf. He flinched, hissing in pain. The ringing in his ears blocking out the fours trying to get his attention. The pain became too much to handle; without a word, he passed out falling back on his pillow.
A place very far away, some time ago
Spark was walking in a forest, making his way home from a journey to save a village from a hoard of zombies. His forehead sweating and his reen glasses in the pocket of his suit. While wiping some sweat from his forehead, he heard screams from a distance. They were loud and shrill, like the ones you would hear in a movie. He pulled out his sword and ran towards the noise as quick as possible.
As he was running, smoke billowed out from above the trees. The heat around him rose higher and higher as he got closer. He started seeing flickering of orange and red and yellow. The flickering eventually turned into seeing burning embers on the ground. He stopped at the edge of the flames, the village was burning. Only a few villagers were left and could hear their pleas and screams to be saved. "I'm coming" he yelled and ran for a house.
He stopped in front of the door and kicked it in, running inside. There was a family of four, two children a mother and grandmother. "Are you okay" he asked as he picked up the elder and helped the woman to her feet, the house crackling around them. "I'm okay, my husband though, he's go-" he cut her off, not wanting to be rude, but for necessity "ma'am I'm not trying to be rude, i know you want your husband, and I'll find him, but what we need right now is for you guys to get out, this house will topple in on itself at any moment." He quickly pushed them out of the door, the mother holding the two younger kids hands and Spark caring the grandmother. He pushed them away from the fire and towards the forest, out of the large clearing. He set them down to where they could see if someone was coming and ran back towards the village. He kicked in many doors, dinding nothing but charred bodies. He held back his tears, now wasn't the time.
As he rounded the corner, a blaze spotted. "You ass, you're what started the fire" he said the the floating ball of fury and fire. He wondered to himself however "who set it free here, they can't just walk through a portal" however before he can get much more than that thought through, the blaze began attacking. It shot a fireball towards him, neary hitting him in the stomach. He was able to jump over it, but just barely. It grazed his leg, searing his calf. He hissed in pain but ran towards the yellow being, slicing when he got close. He was able to slice off one of it's seven prisms floating around its body. Before he could stab it in the chest, it shot a fireball. He was too close to dodge it. It hit Spark in the chest, searing him, it shot off another, hitting him in the abdomen, he screamed in pain but cut its head off.
He fell to his knees, his vision going blurry. His body felt like it was on fire, burning inside and out. "I'm sorry Ianite, I couldn't save them" His vision began to go black at the sides as he collapsed to the ground, too weak to hiss in pain, he fell unconscious.
Present Day, Sonja’s house
Jordan, slowly opened his eyes, hissing in pain as Tom violently shook him. “Oh, sorry mate, you weren’t wakin’ up. Figured I try something” Jordan slowly sat up as he shut his eyes for a few seconds. “You okay, man” Sonja had a look of concern on her face, the look slowly spreading to others. “Yea...I think so. I also think I know what happened to that Spark guy you mentioned earlier.”
A look of confusion spread across their faces. “Can you elaborate, just a little, dude” Tucker looked at Jordan, wanting an explanation. Jordan sat for a minute while he collected what he could from the dream. As he explained what he saw, looks of sorrow crossed their faces.
