"Daniela!" Giovanni called from behind the representatives. "Babe, come on!"

"I'm sorry but I have to leave. I have to go set up the dance for the underclassmen." As I began to run away, I turned to face them and I screamed. "Thank you so much, again! It was nice meeting you!" I laughed to myself as I joined my friends. Marik was flirting with Piper, even though she wasn't having it, and Kenley was flirting with his boyfriend, Fabian. Then there was Gio, patiently waiting for me. I ran over to them as I was laughing for joy.

"What are you so happy about?" Piper wondered. She was still wearing her cheer outfit just like I was.

"I just got a full ride to UCLA!" I screamed and Piper joined me as we jumped like little school girls. "But I'm not going to take it."

She stopped jumping and stared at me with wide eyes; her chestnut eyes glaring at me as if she were peering into my soul. "What?! Why?!"

"Daniela, don't be an idiot." Kenley agreed.

"Guys, she's not an idiot, that's an understatement." Finley argued.

"Then what would you call it?" Kenley wondered.

"I would say, she's an imbecile. Daniela, that's a full ride! Free tuition to UCLA!" Finley said as he shook my shoulders as if I were a rag doll.

"Would you leave her alone?" Gio intervened. "I'm sure she has a reason for all of this madness."

"Look at you defending her 'cause of your British wit." Marik teased which made Giovanni laugh as well as the rest of the group.

"Guys, I'm not accepting it because I already have a full ride to Harvard," I explained. "And Harvard is my top choice."

"Okay smartass rub it in." Marik joked.

Piper looked at him and smacked his shoulder. "Don't be rude."

Marik's hands immediately went up in defense as the rest of us laughed at him and Piper. "Brother, you're so whipped." Gio chuckled to himself.

Piper's eyes furrowed. "We're not dating." She shot.

"Alright, chill guys. Giovanni and I have to go set up so we will meet you at the house." I smiled and took Gio's hand in mine as we headed to the gym's entrance.

"So, you're not taking the full ride?" He asked as we opened the door.

"No, I mean Harvard is better for me than cheerleading is," I said. "Cheer leading is just a pass time."

"Well, whatever makes you happy." He grinned and kissed the top of my head. That's what he did, Gio would always make me feel better with my decisions and then he would be adorable by kissing the top of my head.

"Miss. Plaids. Mr. Ivans. Good to see you two." The principal of our school greeted.

"Hello sir." I smiled.

"Hello." Gio coughed.

"Thank you two so much for staying for the underclassmen, I'm sure you two have parties to go to due to the winning football game." He said, trying to, in some way, connect with us.

"Only one, sir. But it

s at our friend's house so it's fine." Gio said.

"Great, well, the party here is more important at this moment, Gio." I said through gritted teeth. "You won't regret letting us set up the party, sir. I promise."

"The gym needs streamers hung up and disco lights." The principal pointed out.

"Daniela and I are on it." Gio volunteered. The principal nodded and left the room, leaving Gio and I in the room. I stared at him and gave him the, 'nice-going-you-almost-got-your-best-friend-in-trouble,' type of look. "I know, I almost blew it."

"Need I remind you that we are here because of your grade?" I pointed out.

"No, I'm here for that reason. You're here because I want you to be with me." He said as he came closer to me and he put his hands on my waist.

"The streamers have to go up, Gio." I giggled, trying to steer the conversation away from what will happen if I allowed him to keep talking.

"Just one kiss?" He pouted and held up his pointer finger. "One?"

"One." He smiled and placed his soft lips against mine. "Alright. The streamers."
