Chapter 2

Well those 10 days before collage have gone by so fast, I don't even know what happened to them. Let me think........ nothing important. So today is the day! Our first day of collage. I have so many feelings in me right now, I'm nervous, scared, excited, happy, annoyed, all bottled up in me right now.

"Ruby? Ruby snap out of it! We don't have time for you to be playing around!"

"Oh, sorry Callie. What was I doing again?"

"Packing the car. I'll have to make several trips today, do only bring the boxes of personal needs. We can get the decor later."

"Ok Cal."

I realized I was just staring into space before she snapped me out of it. I stood up and took a box of clothes and stuffed animals. Yes, we are going to collage with stuffed animals. The ones we've had since baby's, so deal with it.

I walked out of Callie's room and down the stairs out the front door. When I opened it, I felt a rush of hot air. I hate summer. I prefer winter a lot more. No bugs, blizzards, snowballs made from fresh fallen snow, and we can always throw on an extra layer. In summer, we can take off all our clothes and still be hot. I don't like summer. Not really.

I walked over to Callie's car with the trunk open. There wasn't much space in there, so we are going to be taking a lot of trips. I ran back in the house to get another box. This one was mine. and it had my personal cards and pictures and stuff to hand on my wall. I know Callie said "important stuff first, decor later" but it will give me something to do while she's making the extra trips. I went to put the little red box in the trunk of the car when I tripped and everything poured open from the box.

"Oh come on!"

I tripped over Johnny's skate board. Johnny is Callie's little brother. He's 10 years old and literally a jumping bean. He has the attention span of a fish. Unless he is playing xbox, Wii, iPod, or D.S. I stood up brushing my legs off.

"Johnny! You left you skate board!"

He ran out of the house with a football. He loves football.

"Oh I forgot where I put this! Thanks Rue!!"

He calls me Rue. It's so cute.

"Your welcome, but you have to be carful where you put it. I tripped on it and made a mess."

I said, looking back where my tumbled box is.

"Sorry Rue. I didn't mean to. I'll help you clean it up."

"It's ok, don't worry about it. You go and play. But put this away first."

I handed his his skate board and smiled. He flashed me a smile and dashed off to the garage. I stood up and turned around, look at all my pictures. I put my hands in my face and rubbed my eyes.

I wish I didn't have to clean this up.

I thought, today has been so stressful an my day really hasn't begun. I took my hands away from my eyes and nearly jumped out of my skin. The box was just sitting there with the lid on. I bent down and picked the box up. I opened the lid and peered inside, all of my pictures were neatly arranged inside the box.

"Ok, that's not weird......"

I put the lid back on and stuffed it in the car. Then ran into the house to get another box. Maybe the box never really popped open, and I just imagined it since the day has been so stressful. I shoved the thought to the back of my mind. I'm just stressed.
