Frisk's POV

I was in front of a girl I had seen many times before. We stood face to face talking, as we did every time we met.

"Frisk, you must go, our time is up." She told me.

"Will we meet up again?" I asked her, starting to get worried.

"You know we always do." She said with a soft smile.

"A-alright," I answered and my world phased back in, it was still dark as I hadn't opened my eyes but there was a bit of red in my vision so I knew it was bright out.

I could feel tears threaten my eyes. She had a smile on her face, but I could see behind it. Her eyes said it all, she had I sad look despite her smile. That smile was one of someone trying to cover a lie. I opened my eyes and looked up at my ceiling and sighed looking at the poster I had hanging on it. I read it out loud as I did every morning, hoping that maybe it would be the day it came true.

"Today will be a better day." I recited then sighed again.

This seemed to have become like a prayer to me. That girl was like something from my dreams and in fact she was. She seemed to be the only thing that made me happy anymore. I turned to my side and grabbed my phone to look at the time. 5:58 AM. I knew my dad didn't usually get up until around 7:30 so I had some time. I got out of my bed and took out my sketchbook. I laid it on the desk in my room and flipped to a new page. I began to draw the girl again as was usually part of my daily routine, but as usual, I had forgotten her face almost completely like I do every time I open my eyes. No matter how hard I try, I can never remember anything about her, only vague parts of my dreams. I tried at least 9 times to get the image right but no matter what, it never looked right, I could never remember. I took a look at the time once more and found that it was 7:00

"Damn it." I said under my breath.

My dad would be getting up in half an hour and I didn't want to be here when he did. I quickly grabbed my sketchbook and my phone and made my way to the front door to leave. As I got down half the steps, I heard a door open. My eyes widened and I ran the rest of the way to the door. It was in sight but sadly, I was to late. My dad had grabbed the collar of my shirt and pulled me towards him. He turned me around to face him

"You useless child, did you think you could leave without me noticing?" He grumbled. I didn't answer. "Well!" He shouted.

"N-no sir!" I answered, trembling.

He chuckled and punched me in the cheek. I whimpered as I fell to the ground.

"You should just go join your mother!" He shouted getting ready to stomp on me and I began to cry. "It's your fault she's gone!"

His voice boomed in my head as his foot landed hard on my arm. I heard a snap, he kicked me one last time in the ribs and walked away into the kitchen.

"Now get out of my sight." He said in a calm yet disappointed voice.

As I laid there on the floor, I could see my father sit at the table and put his hands on his head. I used my good arm to lift myself off the ground and right as I was leaving, I could hear my father say something.

"I'm sorry, I know you don't want this but I just don't know what else to do." He said.

I closed the door and began to think as I started to walk.

*Was he talking to mom? I didn't think he would be sorry. I mean he's been blaming me for the whole thing since it happened.

"Scapegoat is the saddest of the sorry..." I sighed and kept walking.
