Four years ago, I met a girl at the park on Christmas Eve. She was sitting on a bench nearby, shivering due to the cold temperature. I felt really bad at the sight and offered her my coat to make herself warm. She met my eyes and gave me a smile and damn. She's beautiful.
I saw her again at the same location after a week. She was bringing my coat. I wasn't expecting to see her again in the same place. She gave me that beautiful smile once again.
"Hey, I have been looking for you." she said and took the seat beside me. She handed me my coat. "Thank you for offering me your coat. You must've felt really cold after giving it to me."
I shook my head. "Not at all. It was okay."
"I feel really bad. Is there anything I can do to repay you?" she said.
"How about we have dinner together?" I suggested.
"Will that repay my debt?" she asked and I nodded with a smile.
And so we had dinner together. We talked about things. I got to know her more and she had this adorable side of her whenever she's really interested in a topic. When the waiter came and handed the bill, she insisted that she would pay but in the end it was me who paid. I can't let a lady pay for my meals.
"Now I have another debt" she pouted.
I chuckled softly. "That's okay."
She shook her head. "I should be the one paying the bill"
"No. A gentleman won't allow that" I replied.
"Are you saying you're a gentleman?" she asked raising one brow.
"Maybe I am." I answered.
"Whatever" she playfully rolled her eyes. "But still I should be the one paying the bill. Treating you dinner would lift the weight off my chest.
'Cute.' I told myself. "I'll think of something. Can you give my your phone number? I'll text you when I've thought of something."
She hesitated. "Yah! You're not going to put me to jail, are you?"
"I won't. Don't worry"
"I don't even know your name."
"It's Park Jimin and you are?"
"Min Yoonji." she muscles began to relax. She let out a sigh and extended her hand signalling me to hand her my phone. I gave her my phone and she typed her number in it.
"Let me know if you're texting me." she said. "Do you mind if I go now? It's getting late..."
I glanced at my wrist watch and I was surprised with the time. It is indeed late.
"I'll drive you home." I offered.
"I can take the cab." she replied.
"It's late. Do you think you can still hail a cab at this hour?"
She sighed. "You're right. Just please don't do anything stupid"
"I won't. Come on, we still have work tomorrow." I said.
That's just the beginning.
