Lily lead them deeper into the library, passing by shelf after self after self, it was like a never ending maze of knowledge. Some, like Annabeth and Katie, loved it. Most, like the Stolls and Percy, hated it.
Travis groaned "How much farther?"
Lily chuckled "We're almost there. Oh, wait, here we are!"
At the end of the tunnel of bookshelves was another huge common room, different from the one Percy had spotted before. This one had an ocean for a floor, well from there that's what it looked like, but the black leather couches seemed as though they were on solid ground (which made no sense). When Lily walked onto the water, Percy realized it was just an illusion, there was no water, but the floor had literately come to life with the ocean, mimicking it. It gave the illusion of you walking on water. In the center of the back leather couches was a mahogany coffee table with a wooden cube upon it and a few candles. On the surrounding walls were, of course, bookshelves.
Lily waved them out of the maze and into the open space "Everything you need to know is in here. Oh and if need to know the time, look up at the ceiling. If you need me just press that button on the wall and if you need to know were a book is..." She tapped the wooden box on the coffee table. "Just look in here, ask it whatever you want and it will get it for you.....including coffee but most of you don't need it."
She waved and vanished into the maze again. Annabeth sighed "Well that was interesting."
"Very," Percy muttered and looked up at the ceiling. "Wow...."
On the ceiling the night sky smiled down at them, the light of the moon and stars provided light for the room itself. It was maybe a little past ten at night from the moon's position, but like the ocean floor, it was an illusion "So that's how we can tell the time..."
Annabeth smiled widely "Whoever made this library was a genius!"
Clarisse snorted "Shouldn't we be researching?"
"Right," Annabeth walked over to the coffee table and opened the wooden box. "Whoa!"
She dropped it and something came sprawling out "Hey!" The thing shouted and pick itself off the ground. It was a celestial bronze mechanical man, about a foot tall.
"If you want to find something you could have just asked nicely, Miss. Chase." He huffed. "You know, you're not normally the one to do that, Clarisse on the other hand..." He glared at the daughter of Ares...well at least he tried to. "Anyway, what brings you here so young?"
"Uh...T-Thalia said we need to do some researching about or past, from the time Percy heard the Great Prophecy to now."
The mechanical man looked at her "Which Great Prophecy?"
Everyone froze "There are more what one?!" Percy yelped.
"Well the Great Prophecy and then the Prophecy of the Seven."
Annabeth groaned slightly and shook her head "Okay, lets just start with the first Great Prophecy, thank you."
The mechanical man nodded "Alright, so first history on what has happened or yourselves?"
The demigods looked at each other "Ourselves." The said in unison.
"Oh," Annabeth started as the man began to leave. "What's your name?"
"Jeremy," The mechanical man said. "Call me Jeremy."
She nodded and Jeremy scurried off. Annabeth turned and looked at the others "Alright so I guess we should relax and calm our nerves...."
The demigods nodded and took seats on the couches and the floor. Percy and Annabeth sat on the end of one of the couches "I'm a little worried." Percy admitted. "About what we might find."
Annabeth scanned the faces of their friends "We all are."
"Here you all go!" Jeremy said as he hauled a thick book onto Annabeth's lap. "Here you are M'Lady, all there in black and white."
"Thank you."
Jeremy nodded "Anything you need, Miss. Chase, anything you need." His eyes fell on Percy. "Lord Perseus, what an honor. I always wondered what you looked like at such a young age and here you are."
The mechanical man smiled "You have a roller-coaster of a life ahead, but never give up and never give in." As soon as he said the words, he winced as if he brought up a bad memory. "Never give in, Percy, no matter what happens."
Jeremy hopped onto his wooden box "Well get to reading, we don't have an eternity."
Annabeth opened the book to the table of contents "Alright, who wants to be looked up first?"
Everyone was silent, no one spoke up or raised their hands. She sighed "Are you serious?"
"Yes, they are serious." A voice came from the entrance of the common room. Everyone turned their heads to see a goddess or so she looked. Whoever it was, she was a daughter of Athena with long, blonde ringlets that flowed over her shoulders and stormy grey eyes that could cut you like daggers. She had the aura of a goddess, but somehow she seemed....mortal.
Jeremy smiled widely and bowed to the Athenian, who gave a smile and nod in return "Jeremy."
"M'Lady."
"Leo wants to see you, something about new hardware....?"
Jeremy jumped to his feet "FINALLY! WHOO HOO!" The mechanical man did a little happy dance and ran from the room.
The daughter of Athena smirked as she watched him sprint into the maze, then turned back to the demigods and smiled widely "Hello everyone, heard you guys had shown up so I thought I'd drop by for a little while. What do you think of the place."
"It's amazing!" Annabeth and Katie exclaimed.
Silena gave a slight smile and nod "It truly is."
The rest just nodded a little. Percy shrugged "A library isn't really my style, but I have to say it's really cool."
The Athenian smiled "I'm so glad you guys like it, it took a while for me to design this place in such a way everyone liked it."
"Wait," Annabeth stood. "You designed this place?"
"Yes, the whole facility actually."
Before Annabeth could ask anymore questions, Clarisse cut her off "And who are you exactly?"
The daughter of Athena smirked "Annabeth, Annabeth Chase."
