I slowly move forward as Jonah and Lia advance as quickly as they possibly can. I wish I had the confidence to actually speak to the two, but uncannily stay silent. I keep my mouth shut and feet moving, I do not want the others to think less of me. They are not the most approachable people, so I probably barely ever slip their minds, except maybe Jonahs.

I, Chanic, am a 17 year old boy. I has dark brown hair, 6'3", a few darker shades to olive skin toned. I like reading, music, and food. I also happen to be attracted to guys. I try to keep that last thing on the DL, though. The people of my country, Clevim, are not the most accepting people of diversity like that.

As we venture into this abyss of nothing, I remember how we got here and why we are here. A high tech plane from Hyladon, a city from the Nation of Clevim, brought us to this industrial mountain to find the key to getting Afradalis, or the power of a god. Only two known existing humans have Afradalis, one of them is right in front of me.

Jonah is considered to be the descendant, or something, of Rhanos the god of Mind Tricks. Jonah can occasionally see what others see, feel what others feel, and think what others think, This is why i think Jonah sometimes thinks of me, of people that are either close to him, or have an emotional connection to him. He probably knows all about my life; i like to think to myself a lot. Apparently Jonah is getting better at channeling his abilities, and he is able to do it for longer amount of times and from further away. I have even heard rumours that he can hear animals think too.

The other person, besides Jonah, is the 'descendant or Analogix, god of Strength. She is identified as Sarmal and she is on the run from almost every major country, someone with power like Jonah and Sarmal are highly coveted. Me, Jonah, and Lia all come from Clevim, but i am almost sure we all are not loyal to the crown. I really did not want to go on the trip, but otherwise my dictatorship country would kill me. They choose Lia because of her highly extensive top secret background, and Jonahs abilities, and I am not sure why they choose me.

There are several stopping points along the tunnel we are traveling, most of them have very few life though. There seems to be a person at the next one, its in a seeing distance. As we come up on the bright lights, a big indention with little stalls and such are located there, probably half are empty, but there are people talking while maybe 3 others, other than our group, shop around for some supplies. I hurry to the water station they have set up, and i gulp as much down as possible.

"Go easy, we do not want you complaining about your stomach later on." Lia called out to me. I slow at once.

I do not want to stop drinking, but i know she is right. I move over to on of the stalls with food and such there. I look for something i am in the mood for, and i see some italian bread so i get 3 breads. I go over to Jonah, who is just sitting down off nearby the mouth of the cave, and give him a bread, he takes it and decides to try it.

"Thank you, its actually really good." Jonah mumbles. I nod and looking for Lia, but she seems to be talking to one of the stall's owners. I revert my attention to Jonah, he is looking at me with a puzzled look.

"What?" I blurt silently.

"I am just contemplating what would happen if i told people your secrets..." He uncannily speaks.

"its whatever" but I know its not whatever, gay people are NOT accepted. I will most likely be killed, but if I can escape to Fallix I would be fine.

"I want to be your friend, though." He proudly unveils to me.

"Then dont tell people my secrets..." I revert my attention because i get teared up, hoping he would stop i look the opposite way.

I hear mufflinig, like someone is about to cry behind me. I look and see Jonah almost in tears, I get a little closer and hug him.

"Stop crying, youre alright." I voice to him lowly. I am a bit uncomfortable with the situation, but Jonah seems to have a good heart.

He seems to calm down, "Im sorry, i just pick up on people's emotions easily... you're going through alot." I tense up not knowing how to respond to that.

"Get your asses up! we've got to get moving again. I think theres another half mile then we will hit the Maze." Lia says to us, me and Jonah jolt then get up.

As we are walking, i start thinking again... Jonah wants to be my friend and he probably knows me better than anyone else, is there something interesting about me or is he just tired of the basic average Clevimian citizens.

As we are walking Jonah starts to slow down for me to catch up with him, "Hey Chanic" he says.

"Hi, do you think its much farther because im getting a big headache from all of the stalled air. The people who run this tunnel need to flow more air through it..." I say shyly.

"Yeah, well this mountain hasnt been in use for like a hundred years. I doubt anybody even thinks about it anymore other than the people who deal in the black market here." Jonah says, hes suddenly looks up at Lia, "Lia is wondering why we are talking right now, shes thinking its unprofessional for some reason..." he whispers to me.

We talk for a few more minutes until we came to an opening to a room, it was small and quaint but the room had expensive taste. it was lined with a gold type of lacey cloth. A desk was in the middle with a wooden door behind it.

Stepping up to the desk, i noticed someone in the corner of the room picking up a book. The person steps up to the desk, "hi my name is Hansley."
