During her day, the unsettling feeling never left and nor did the constant dull ache that left months ago.
She tried her best to occupy herself with working, she would look for something, anything to do. But still, the pain could not be ignored. This was a sign of Alexander possibly being in the same radius as her, or that he had moved on. She hoped it was the later. She swung her axe down on the wood which made a loud splitting sound, like my chest, she thought. And if infact he was in France, her next escape would be London. Maybe she could work as a wildlife ranger, possibly some sort of environmentalist. Though, her voice had more of a french accent and her english sounded strange, she hadn't spoke the language in a while so she didn't know.
Grabbing the split wood, she added it to her ever growing pile, only hoping that Alexander was as miserable as she was.Not a moment later, her once quiet dog had barked. Confused, she went around the house to find many different vehicles surrounding her quiet cottage, one of them, containing her worst nightmare. Sudden rage was present in mind, but all she could do was stand there.
A man in a suit got out of one of the vehicles and walked to her.
"Excuse me Miss, is there an Erin May in this house." He asks, an accent present that she couldn't place.
"non, elle n'est pas là." No, she is not here.
The man gives her a confused look before setting back to the car, letting a man none other than Alexander out.
"She said that Erin is not here." The man informs Alexander. A small amount of happiness washes through her, but she ignores it.
The kings eyes, never once do they leave her own, making her nervous under his gaze.
It was several moments before he finally spoke.
"It's you." He states, emotionlessly, walking toward her, the dog growling in his wake, but with one look it whines and hides behind Erin.
"Come here." He orders, as if he was in charge. And he was but not to her. Instead, she runs.
"course d'otto!" Otto run! She screams and he speeds ahead of her. But naturally, she gets caught. He was, and is, a monster.
Roughly grabbing her arm, he throws her in the vehicle, Otto jumping in behind her.
She thrashes around, using anything she can to break the window, including herself. This couldn't be happening!
Two men grab her harshly to retrain her, injecting a needle into her neck, she passes out.The sunlight peeks through the blinds, waking Erin. Sore pain in her neck and spine in prominent, making her groan. And whats worse, she wasn't on her couch with Otto, she was tied to a chair in a room, far away from her home.
The door clicks open, drawing her attention to it.
In the midst Alexander stands, holding a mug of coffee and walking toward her. Pulling out a chair he sits parallel to her.
"I assume you're wondering why you're here." He says, yet again no emotion in his voice.
She doesn't respond only clenches her jaw and looks straight ahead.
"Well the answer is power." He explains.
"You see, without a mate, i was becoming weak. And who could rule the world if they are weak. So, i dont care if you rot away in a cell or choose not to run and live in a room, you are staying." Concluding his explanation, yet still she says nothing.
What sick and twisted person would trap someone for power? She thought.
"And if you somehow do escape, there will be punishment." He adds, then stands to leave.
"Where is Otto." She asks before the door could close.
"Probably being digested." He said then closed the door, too harsh for her liking.
She felt sick, her best friend was killed. Her poor Otto was now dead and she could do nothing.
Her head hung low, sadness taking over.
And that second she knew she had to escape. She had to find a way out of this evil and horrid creatures grasp. But how?
She fumbled with the rope, finding the source of the knot. This was easy, and nothing she hadn't been through before.
In her youth, many of the other orphans didn't fancy her, and would do this occasionally. She untied the knot, rubbing her sore wrists, and then untying her feet.
She made quick movements, looking for anything that could help her abscond. And soon she found more rope, the windows couldn't open, so she did what any escapee would do, she broke it with a chair.
