The midnight sky would have been dark, had it not been for the bright orange hue that bounced around the streets and slanted off the crisp autumn air. The smell wafted down the street, as people gathered to stare open mouthed at the scene before them.
The fire crackled and leapt through the air, arcing over the trees and reaching for the stars. It was a fierce wind that stirred the leaves and blew them into the air, a soft whoosh inaudible with the blazing sirens that could be heard, tearing down the street.
It would be too late, it would always be too late. The Starling family would be on the cover of every magazine, newspaper, and flyer for the coming months. The family that simply disappeared in an instant, leaving behind a young boy in the midst of it all. It would be the largest scandal to hit Beverly Hills that Year.
That poor boy, scared and newly orphaned, would be painted as the innocent victim of a fire, a fire that would be painted as the Blazers new target. A victim of a serial arsonist, one of the largest spree killers in Californian history.
No one would remember the once smiling family, the happy little boy who would grow up to be feared.
Yet, everyone would remember the Blazer, the man that killed over 4 dozen family's in the span of 6 months. A man who would never be caught. A man who would blend into the Hollywood scenes. A man by the name of Carson Kentling.
