a girl called emily / poem

her voice
is husky
like elderflowers
and delicate
like how the petals
cling to your fingers
as you walk past.

her laugh
like rain
in a pond:
enchanting
mesmerising
almost
otherworldly.

and her eyes
so bright
as if the sun
shines from underneath them
so round
so curious
and how they scrunch up
like fistfuls of rose petals
as she laughs.
