Val felt herself coming back to consciousness....

The first thing she smelt were hospital like smells. You know, the scent of hospitals? Chemicals and disinfectants. Her throat felt dry and a groan came from her at the painful bright light. She heard someone's laughing, stop short. The person sounded familiar. She held her head in her hands and rubbed her eyes then yawned stretching her arms as she sat up. She blinked a few more times and her vision cleared.

The person in front of her was Tequila. He looked at her with a smile and greeted "Morning Sleeping Beauty"

She smiled widely at him happiness filling her heart in seeing him again alive and well.

"Hey Tequila" she said. She didn't expect her voice to sound so hoarse. He then handed her a glass of water which seemed to have just been waiting there on the bedside table. Tequila had a glass of water waiting everyday for when she wakes up.

"Thank you" she said before downing the whole glass in record time speed. She then placed the glass on the bedside table just as Ginger walked in about to check her vitals. The Agent smiled widely and said "Glad to see your awake Val"

Valentine chuckled and took a teddy bear to hug. "Glad to be awake Ginger"

Tequila then turned to his fellow Statesman. "Ginger could you call Eggsy and Harry? And give me and Val a few moments alone?" He asked as his palms started to sweat and nervousness gnawed on him. He could feel his heart beating out of his chest and he thought he wouldn't feel this way. He already knew what Val felt for him.

But then he realized. He was nervous not because of the confession he was about to make. But because he hadn't spoken to Val ever since he lied to her about not taking anything. He was a bit daunted at what her reaction might be.

Ginger smiled and Val notice a glint in her eyes and felt slightly confused. "Sure" Ginger said in a certain tone then hastily left the room. Once they were alone, a thick silence was between them. It wasn't awkward silence. It was just silence. A lot had happened the past few days and neither knew where to start.

Tequila finally found the first few words to say and opened his mouth to speak when a cold hard slap landed on his right cheek. It echoed through out the room making his head swerve the direction the slap delivered and it stung like hell. His eyes widened in shock and he rubbed his cheek. He faced Val to see she gave him a scolding look with her arms crossed. But he wasn't bothered much. He only felt happy that she was awake.

He lightly smirked making Val's heart flutter and for a moment, regret she ever slapped his handsome face. "Damn you can throw a good slap. I pity people you have to punch. But I guess I do deserve that" his Southern accent which she all the while longed to hear allured her.

Val pushed away all the flutters she felt and tried to stay mad enough to scold him with a stern voice. It wasn't working well, she tried her best to resist kissing him. She really couldn't stay mad at him. Her voice still came out gentle as ever but filled with loads of annoyance.

"Agent Tequila don't even think you're off the hook for lying to me. I swear you could've just told me. Why didn't you tell me?" She asked her eyes slightly softening and losing the stern look she wanted to be there.

Tequila's smirk slowly dropped and he faced her with a sincere look. "I didn't want to scare you away and it wasn't an easy thing to reveal to someone like you. I didn't know how you would react" he said in a guilty manner.
