Professors Fullbuster and Dragneel

chapter 4

As the Slytherin and Gryffindor fifth years filed in the classroom, Gray and Natsu shared a look. Happy was sitting on Natsu's desk, swinging his legs and reading one of the books that he had gotten. It, for once, was not a manga. It was the first book in a series called Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It was called the Lightning Thief. He was halfway through it thanks to the Gale Force Glasses that Carla had given him before they left.

Natsu and Gray started their class. "As you heard from Dumbledore, this is an Inner Magic course. This will take a lot of time to master, so don't worry if you can't get it at first. Today though, we'll start with a few demonstrations." Natsu stepped forward as his husband finished speaking. "As you may have noticed, we have different magic. I'm the Fire Dragon Slayer. Gray here is the Ice Demon Slayer. Happy is an Exceed. Happy, could you return to your origional form? I'll let you go back to your book then." Happy jumped off the desk with an "Aye Sir!" and disappeared in a small poof of smoke. In his place was a blue cat with a white patch on his stomach and on the tip of his tail. All the girls cooed at the adorable little Exceed as he flew a lap around the room and came to rest on top of Natsu's head. Natsu continued. "Now we'll be going outside for the next demonstration. If we do this indoors, Dumbledore will be on my tail about property damage." He led them down the stairs and out to the quad. Gray turned to the students "I'd advise you to stay back. This might get a little messy." At his words Natsu's arms shot out to the side as he crouched down. Gray got into his stance as they eyed each other up. Then Natsu lunged forward "Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!" His fists were ablaze but all of a sudden he was stopped. A huge wall of ice had suddenly appeared and Natsu roared in challenge. "Hey Ice Bastard! Come on and fight me for real. Unless you're too chicken to do it!" The ice disappeared and in its place stood Gray, who was smiling in triumph. "Hey Natsu! You go on and on about fighting for real, and then you fall into the dumbest traps!" At his words a magic circle formed under Natsu's feet and froze him solid. He turned to the class. "And that, students, is how Inner Magic is used. You can go in 3.....2......1....." The bell rung, signaling that class was over. Gray pulled Malfoy aside. "I hope we meet your fathers specifications, Mr. Malfoy. Please refrain from making comments like those again. I'm just giving you a warning....." He walked off, and helped Happy carry a still-frozen Natsu up to their apartment.
